Taliban 'Offered Bin Laden Trial Before 9/11'
Former minister says group was prepared to see bin Laden put on trial prior to 9/11, but US was not interested.

By Mujib Mashal

September 11, 2011 "
Al Jazeera" -- The Taliban government in Afghanistan offered to present Osama bin Laden for a trial long before the attacks of September 11, 2001, but the US government showed no interest, according to a senior aide to the Taliban leader, Mullah Omar.

Wakil Ahmad Muttawakil, Taliban’s last foreign minister, told Al Jazeera in an exclusive interview that his government had made several proposals to the United States to present the al-Qaeda leader, considered the mastermind of the 2001 attacks, for trial for his involvement in plots targeting US facilities during the 1990s.

"Even before the [9/11] attacks, our Islamic Emirate had tried through various proposals to resolve the Osama issue. One such proposal was to set up a three-nation court, or something under the supervision of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference [OIC]," Muttawakil said.

"But the US showed no interest in it. They kept demanding we hand him over, but we had no relations with the US, no agreement of any sort. They did not recognise our government."

Remember that little factoid??? Maybe if the USG had supported OBL being held to account for the terrorist acts of the 90 s , ........we would be living in a much more pleasant world. . We will never know.

Remember that little factoid???
Yep, it's a factoid alright...

fac·toid (f
k
toid) n.

A piece of unverified or inaccurate information that is presented in the press as factual, often as part of a publicity effort, and that is then accepted as true because of frequent repetition: "What one misses finally is what might have emerged beyond both facts and factoids
a profound definition of the Marilyn Monroe phenomenon" (Christopher Lehmann-Haupt).

and that of course is YOUR opinion. There are plenty of those (opinions ) floating around with as little substance as the above.

What do YOU recommend as valid, sustantiated reading material that covers these issues OBJECTIVELY, COMPLETELY , and FACTUALLY???

thx.

Bop around, think critically, decide for yourself.

A site that offers an article such as the one you posted, that claims 9-11 was black flag because the WTC 7 building was rebuilt without fanfare ...(what????!!!), that there was no debris at the crash site of the third aircraft (huh????), and that the hijackers were alive after 9-11............well, it doesn't pass the smell test.

That's why when I heard them talk about CD, I didn't go to Truther sites or gov't sites......I went to the site of a CD company, and studied the process.

Think for yourself.......and get your input from places that aren't trying to deceive you.

Global Research is trying to deceive you.

another well thought out piece: (IMHO:)

We were unable to accept the reality of this anonymous slaughter. We were unable because it exposed the awful truth that we live in a morally neutral universe where human life, including our life, can be snuffed out in senseless and random violence. It showed us that there is no protection, not from God, fate, luck, omens or the state.

We have still not woken up to whom we have become, to the fatal erosion of domestic and international law and the senseless waste of lives, resources and trillions of dollars to wage wars that ultimately we can never win. We do not see that our own faces have become as contorted as the faces of the demented hijackers who seized the three commercial jetliners a decade ago. We do not grasp that Osama bin Laden’s twisted vision of a world of indiscriminate violence and terror has triumphed. The attacks turned us into monsters, grotesque ghouls, sadists and killers who drop bombs on village children and waterboard those we kidnap, strip of their rights and hold for years without due process. We acted before we were able to think. And it is the satanic lust of violence that has us locked in its grip.

As Wordsworth wrote:

Action is transitory—a step, a blow,
The motion of a muscle—this way or that—
’Tis done; and in the after-vacancy
We wonder at ourselves like men betrayed:
Suffering is permanent, obscure and dark,
And has the nature of infinity.
We could have gone another route. We could have built on the profound sympathy and empathy that swept through the world following the attacks. The revulsion over the crimes that took place 10 years ago, including in the Muslim world, where I was working in the weeks and months after 9/11, was nearly universal. The attacks, if we had turned them over to intelligence agencies and diplomats, might have opened possibilities not of war and death but ultimately reconciliation and communication, of redressing the wrongs that we commit in the Middle East and that are committed by Israel with our blessing. It was a moment we squandered. Our brutality and triumphalism, the byproducts of nationalism and our infantile pride, revived the jihadist movement. We became the radical Islamist movement’s most effective recruiting tool. We descended to its barbarity. We became terrorists too. The sad legacy of 9/11 is that the assholes, on each side, won.

We should all just get along,if peeps didnt believe that some imaginary guy in the sky was what they should devote their life to then we wouldnt have any more wars on who's god is better. There is enough on this planet for all of us and one of my more favourite Native quotes fit's right in here.
"Only take what you need"
The natives figured it out years ago,the creator is more powerfull then any god.The creator can be anything,a rock,a mountain or a stream. Some will understand this and lots wont.

America Is A Bully. OK. There, I Said It!

By Tom Feeley

First published December 24, 2002

America is a bully, or so it appears to those who live beyond our shores.

Nobody likes a bully, whether he operates in the schoolyard or in the international arena. Those who support a bully do so out of fear. Hence, bullies never have any real friends. They have followers who are intimidated by the arrogance and power of the tormenter. There are many nations, which appear to be friendly to America, yet they wait patiently with hope in their hearts that one-day the bully will meet his match. Meanwhile, they pay homage to the bully in order that they may avoid his wrath.

To the world outside America's borders it appears that Bin Laden strides into the schoolyard, confronts the bully and slaps his face before his tormented schoolmates. Around the globe, good people who have watched the bully in his conceit, speak of justice and democracy as if he was their inventor and the only person worthy of their benefits, are appalled to find that their horror of the event is accompanied with an inward sense of satisfaction. At last, "the bully got what was coming to him".

In the aftermath of 9/11, America’s citizens are scared. Awakened from a dream of rampant consumerism and ignorance of world affairs, we find ourselves confused and uncertain. How could such a thing have happened? It happened because America's democracy has been subverted, not by communists or terrorists, but by our choices. The great majority of America's people choose to close our eyes or look away when the bully treated the people of other nations in a manner which would sicken them, had it occurred to one of their own family.

Franklin D Roosevelt said " Just as our national policy in internal affairs has been based upon a decent respect for the rights and the dignity of all of our fellow men within our gates, so our national policy in foreign affairs has been based on a decent respect for the rights and the dignity of all nations, large and small." If this were ever true, it certainly has not been reflected in recent U.S. foreign policy. We are pleased to bathe in the waters of prosperity and do not find it deplorable that we expect others to cleanse themselves in our dirty water.

It is deplorable that a mind set exists which allows us to think, that simply because we were born within these borders, we are somehow entitled to a enjoy a greater degree of respect and dignity than we are prepared to acknowledge are the birth right of all the worlds people.
Were we to reflect a "decent respect for the rights and the dignity of all nations, large and small" we would demanded that our government reflect in its foreign policy those things, which we most value in our own personal and political lives.

The issue is not terrorism. It is injustice! America has been unjust and dishonest in its dealings with other nations. John F Kennedy said "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable".

By defending Islamic Kuwait from secular Iraq?

By defending Islamic Saudi Arabia from secular Iraq?

By helping Muslims in Kosovo??

OHHHHH!!!!! I know!! By supporting Israel, the ONLY democratic free state in the ME............that must be it!

Well, Osama wants it! Let's throw the Jews off the sleigh!!!

Do you people ever think about what you are saying???????

violence begets violence ..........and the circle of violence becomes endless.

......ergo "endless wars"??

And if the USA had done nothing after 9-11, like you and the other geniuses here wished, that bomb would have gone of in a crowded street in Boston, or LA, or Chicago.......or Toronto.

'We Did Exactly What Al-Qaida Wanted Us to Do'

Interview with Former FBI Agent Ali Soufan: 'We Did Exactly What Al-Qaida Wanted Us to Do' - SPIEGEL ONLINE - News - International

...Indeed. 'we" did. .......but many will simply refuse to even consider it. So bent are they on revenge that irrational , explosively emotional actions took over. Many of those attitudes have hardened into a prejudice/ hatred of things they had no control over anyhow . So blind became their "patriotism" that it colored the reality of what was really happening around them. They found their new victim role and used it, abused it to their deadly , greedy advantage.

Terrorism became their excuse for atrocities they would ordinarily be horrified by.....and now accepted as the "new norm".

What america LOST that day was a lot more than the lives , it lost its integrety, its wisdom, its intelligence, it's common sense , its ability to find creative and intelligent solutions to complex problems. most of all it lost its humanity......

Whether it can truly turn things around and not regain what it had..........as one cannot and should not live in the past or try to recapture it.......but gain a new america, a more mature america, a wiser one, smarter with how it manages its money and domestic issues and one whos priorities can be humanity based , and not revenge, power, greed, antagonistic , influenced.

Let's hope. The true potential is there..... and there are signs of real and constructive change . Change is the only constant in life...and it is up to the people as to how it is handled and managed.

america has had the opportunity of a Pheonix ..........and rise out of its "ashes" into a wonderful , but much smarter nation again.

Only time will tell.

Rudi Dekkers, the owner of Huffman Aviation, the flight school where alleged 9/11 hijackers Mohamed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi trained at, dropped some bombshell revelations on the September 11, 2011 episode of Erskine Overnight, in speaking about his new book, Guilty by Association.
He said he never saw Atta and al-Shehhi ever pray when they were at his flight school, and that the voice purported to be Atta’s from the alleged cockpit voice recorder didn’t sound at all like Atta’s to him.
He also said that Atta was a mediocre student and was warned six weeks into his training that he would be kicked out unless he shaped up. Ultimately, upon graduation, Atta and al-Shehhi were only qualified to fly a small plane with a few seats, and not a Boeing 767 jumbo jet, as he and al-Shehhi are alleged to have flown so skillfully into the World Trade towers.

So guys skilled to fly 2 seat plane's huh.
