This was an exceptional book. This kid is currently at the Perimeter Institute here in Waterloo. His IQ exceeds that of Einstein, his two brothers are also prodigies. They are living on a farm just outside of New Hamburg... the kid is amazing. The mother is a hero. It's an emotional read.

Escape From Camp 14: One Man's Remarkable Odyssey From North Korea To Freedom In The West

by Blaine Harden
Viking Adult | April 3, 2012 | Hardcover
About Details
A New York Times bestseller, the shocking story of one of the few people born in a North Korean political prison to have escaped and survived.
North Korea is isolated and hungry, bankrupt and belligerent. It is also armed with nuclear weapons. Between 150,000 and 200,000 people are being held in its political prison camps, which have existed twice as long as Stalin''s Soviet gulags and twelve times as long as the Nazi concentration camps. Very few born and raised in these camps have escaped. But Shin Donghyuk did.
In Escape from Camp 14, acclaimed journalist Blaine Harden tells the story of Shin Dong-hyuk and through the lens of Shin''s life unlocks the secrets of the world''s most repressive totalitarian state. Shin knew nothing of civilized existence-he saw his mother as a competitor for food, guards raised him to be a snitch, and he witnessed the execution of his own family. Through Harden''s harrowing narrative of Shin''s life and remarkable escape, he offers an unequaled inside account of one of the world''s darkest nations and a riveting tale of endurance, courage, and survival.

So far it is a very interesting story, and should be read by everyone as it is so revealing about No Korea.

In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex

It's the true story of a Nantucket whaleship sunk in 1820 by a bull sperm whale. The story was later popularized in fictional form in Herman Melville's Moby ****.

Just started The Equinox by MJ Preston.

So far, bar none, worst book I've ever read. Ha ha ha. Joking. I'm less than ten pages in, but so far it is looking pretty damn good. Right down my alley too!

It's been years since I read it, isn't it slit your throat depressing?

On the surface, yes. But when you extract certain passages from the book, you see that it is actually a positive story designed to give encouragement to those from poor backgrounds.

Afterlife With Archie.

This is a new ongoing comic book series about what happens when Sabrina brings Hot Dog back from the dead. It is a mixture of Pet Semetary, Dawn Of The Dead, and other horror stories. It is a VERY dark comic, and it is interesting to see the various characters from the Archie universe (Jughead, Reggie, Veronica, Betty, Archie, etc.) having to deal with an undead apocalypse. I highly recommend this!
