So the solution to the ills of society are to legalize and regulate? Why is the left determined that we all must live in a sh!thole society?
Why is the extreme right determined to make illegal the very things that they practice but preach against?

Butt out that splif punk!Because those who practice illegal things that they preach against are in the minority, and rest of us conservatives don't mind letting the chips fall where they may. If you're caught breaking the law, you suffer the consequences.
Let's appeal to your "conservative" side (or is it the Churchy one - the two are so often confused) then and look at the money.... You take a lot more in on licensing and taxes from legal operations than you do from catching, convicting and incarcerating people mixed into the illegal ones....Because those who practice illegal things that they preach against are in the minority, and rest of us conservatives don't mind letting the chips fall where they may. If you're caught breaking the law, you suffer the consequences.

We already live in a society with prostitution and that's never going to change. We have two choice then: a society in which prostitutes and their customers are exploited and put into more danger or a society in which they are exploited less and put into less danger. The judge is operating under the impression that the law could not promote exploitation and increased danger for workers and customers. She determined that the law did promote this and so struck down the law. Regulating the business would have a proactive effect on improving working conditions
In general, the left believes that regulating trade and labour so that workers and consumers are not exploited and put into unnecessary dangers makes for a better society. You can call that a ****hole society, but you'd have to defend the idea that the opposite is a better society.
Why does it make sense to consider it "Breaking the law" when you decide to have sex with whomever you wish, whenever you wish, as many times as you wish?
It doesn't.... which is why the above isn't illegal..... but once you put a price tag on the above or accept "Gifts" or some other means of trade for that sex, suddenly it's illegal.
Why?
Because the laws say so?
Laws need to be justified in order to be considered valid....... and a few people supporting a law only because of what they think is "Moral" isn't a justification.
The law is there in order to help prevent people being harmed by the negative aspects of prostitution.
Sadly there are those who can't read beyond that sentence to see that they very laws enacted to prevent that harm are the cause of more harm than they are supposed to prevent. Rather than change the law to better suit our times and culture, many are made to suffer on the rational that the few know better.
Which are what?
STD's??
The same argument could be applied to one night stands or entering into a new relationship. Should we also expect the government to regulate & control how we conduct our personal relationships & sexual tastes to such a degree that we could be jailed simply by walking out of a bar with someone of the opposite sex? Or same sex?
Agreed.... many of the arguments that justify these old laws and restrictions are merely based on subjective morals & whatever other type of factual arguments they have to support their side can also be applied to personal relationships or one night stands.

Look at the context before you pound the keyboard for a change. The guy's arguing from his pulpit and not considering upon whom his stuff falls. What a sad little argument that must rely on invoking religion in order for you to take a run at the legislation that is on the books... You want more safety features incorporated by the police and legal system made available for prostitutes, then work to change the legislation and make the practice legal.
As it stands, the practice is illegal in the eyes of the law and the expectation for special resolutions to protect prostitutes is right up there with initiatives to protect the pimps and drug dealers that exploit these women.

Gauged by the silence re: the question(s) posed earlier, my estimation is there has been some pause for reflection re: suggestion offered. So why get knee-deep into the BS then?
If you have a strong point to support your position (which I suspect you do), then make it and deflate their argument.
