Did you read the post. The persecution is not directed at homosexuals on the part of us 'homophobes'. It's on Christians who have expressed any sentiments in support of the natural and divine law on which Western Civilization is built. The collapse of which is leading to the dissolution of the social cohesion of the West.
Divine law which is up to YOUR interpretation. Natural law as you want to narrowly see it and not what is actually out there.
Western Civilization was built on more than just Divine and Natural law.
The 'persecution' is against those who refuse to accept that what you THINK has been the way things are, isn't how it's always been and the rest of us just effin tired of seeing your ignorance and willing blindness, and the fact you just won't live and let bloody live.
QUOTE=coldstream;2716594]I have not called for the silencing of the homosexual lobby. I've never called for the reinstitution of criminal sanctions against homosexual activity. The same for adultery, fornication, masturbation or any private sexual acts between consenting adults; even though all of these have profoundly destructive individual, familial and societal consequences. I'm quite willing to engage in an open and fair debate without prejudice or rancor.
Except that is so not true. You CONTINUALLY state homosexuality is a sin.
By saying that, you automatically show your prejudice against it. No matter how many times it's pointed out to you that you can have your opinion, but just stop trying to insist that people follow your belief, you keep saying being gay is morally evil etc, etc. That's not being open to discussion.
QUOTE=coldstream;2716594]But what the RFU has done here is dictated that any declaration of the moral laws that have informed our society for 2 millennia, are now deemed 'hate' speech for which there will be NO 'tolerance'. There is no sense of separation of church and pitch. It is really a gutless capitulation to the rampage and pillage of the forces of the New Age, post structural, post Christian society.. an emerging tyranny of thought control.
Yes, because those words incite HATRED towards a group of people for simply being who they ARE. It's against the HYPOCRISY of preaching love and tolerance one moment, then saying homosexuality is a sin and should be outlawed the other.
And what you consider moral laws, AREN'T.
Our society has also had OTHER laws - religious and otherwise - for longer than 2 millennia. Why are these past 2 more special than any other time?
A word - Jesus.
Who NEVER said a damned thing about homosexuality.
