Any concerns Canadians have with Trump's Presidency are a matter for our great and fearless leader (sarcasm) to deal with. Not the new President of the U.S.A.
That's quite the team the new Pres has, Eagle. Trump's hand had barely left the bible when word hit the borders about possible SJW nitwits trying to sneak across the border to join their like-minded idiot brigades in Washington. Just wish it had happened earlier as some buses filled with these dupes had already made their way across and are now busy causing mayhem in Washington. Hope they all get pepper sprayed before being unceremoniously thrown back across the border and put on a watch list.

I thought Trump gave a very good Inauguration Speech. Radically different from the conventional mode of the last century which were filled with flowery abstractions.
It focussed on concrete action, nationalism, populism, iconoclasm. It took to task the failed strategies of globalism and free markets that have left large swathes of America in ruins, a deindustrialized post apocalyptic landscape. It's left the vast majority poorer and more desperate and an ever diminishing minority grotesquely enriched by scavenging on the carrion of a wrecked economy.
Trump is well aware that some of the most combative and ideologically committed economic free marketeers and social libertarians are in the Republican Establishment (for the former).. and in the renegade Tea Party (for the latter).
The only way Trump can achieve his objectives is by dirigiste and centralized initiatives by the Federal government.. especially in the imposition of tariffs and in incentives to industrial investment. Widespread decentralizion of economic direction to the States would completely sabotage that agenda. That is going to run into a wall of opposition in his own party.
It will also require a reacquisition of the absolute moral sense and individual responsibility of the founding of the American nation state which has been torn asunder by moral relativism and radical individualism of the modern era.
He'll have to forge a independent political movement if he's to succeed.. and it will have to draw on a construct that is not apparent the political horizon at this point.
I wouldn't put it beyond him.. but he's got his work cut out for himself.
