Absolutely (clever girl that you are) they don't want to lose their momentum, we've seen that happen before and go on an eight game losing streak (and they can't afford any eight game losing streaks in the playoffs)

I'm not worried about a losing streak, but if you open the door, just a crack, and
give st. louis some life, it can give them a spark to win two, then the series
is up for grabs.

For the Canucks…

He didn’t get the credit for the game-winner in Game 1, but there was no doubt which player it was that put the Canucks up for good in Game 3 as Steve Bernier was officially credited with scoring his first goal of the 2009 playoffs early in the third period on a Vancouver power play. For the 24-year old, it was the first NHL playoff goal in his Canucks career and his second overall with his last one coming three years ago back on April 25, 2006 against the Nashville Predators. Coincidentally, both of the 6’2”, 225 lbs. right winger’s playoff goals have been game-winners. Bernier also had a playoff-high three shots on goal in Game 3 despite only seeing 13:07 of ice-time – most likely due to the fact he doesn’t see a regular penalty kill shift.

The goal couldn’t have come at a better time for the Quebec City, Quebec native as it helped him snap a seven-game point-less drought dating back to the regular season and a 15-game skid without a goal. His last tally came back on March 17th against the Dallas Stars. Bernier will be aiming to help his team close out their first round series against the Blues tonight in Game 4. In 25 career NHL playoff games, Bernier has notched eight points (2-6-8) and 15 penalty minutes. For the Blues…

Among Blues fans, there has been a running joke to have T.J. Oshie elected as the next Mayor of St. Louis. Perhaps the former North Dakota Fighting Sioux has taken that to heart and has been spending too much time on the campaign trail. After lighting up the Canucks with five points (2-3-5) in four games during the regular season, the 5’11”, 170 lbs. centre has been nowhere to be found so far in the playoffs going point-less with just four shots on goal in the three games played thus far. During the regular season, he fired 15 shots in four games against the Canucks.

Dating back to the regular season, the Mt. Vernon, Washington native has now gone point-less in five consecutive outings marking his longest drought of the season. He did have a playoff-high 17:34 of ice-time on Sunday night. This is Oshie’s first foray into the playoffs as a professional hockey player. His previous playoff experiences have come at the collegiate level where he helped lead the North Dakota Fighting Sioux to the NCAA Frozen Four in each of his three seasons at the school. He was also a member of the 2006 Team USA World Junior squad that finished in fourth place in Vancouver.

ok, game four, and canucks chance to 'sweep', but I'll believe it when I see it.
I just can't imagine this happening, but the thought is great, as it will save
lots of travel and give the canucks a chance to have some time off, sundin
can heal, and I'm sure many of the players have bruises and bumps that need
some attention.
If we don't win this one, then it a game here, then a game there, and then
back home for game 7.
Too bad Calgary pulled out a win last night, oh well, they can have 'one', but
that's it.
Montreal is just about done, they are no match for Boston.
Glad Washington won, maybe they will win all of them now.
San Jose in Anaheim tonight, I would think that would be wild, but San Jose
doesn't seem to have the high gear that everyone is playing with, maybe tonight
will be different, and Joe Thornton is still trying to slow the game down and
do 'his thing', well Joe it doesn't work in playoffs.
Carolina/New Jersey - Detroit/Columbus also today.

I was happier with Ohlund and Salo. Both got a few good point shots to the net. Kesler also skated miles. The player I wasn't happy with was Willy Mitchell, who took three penalties....two dumb ones though I have to admit the referee was calling some cheap ones.

I agree about Ohlund and Salo. Ohlund reminded me of how he used to play
in playoffs, he was a power that there, and scored goals too, by coming to
the net, same with Jovo, he was a force offensively.
Yeah, tough penalties for Mitchell, it is so intense out there, he got a little
carried away, but for the most part, he is a master with that stick, and I'm
sure he will remember those penalties, and stay away from them, but the
flip side of those penalties, is how good the team played with him, and with
one of the penalties, kesler as well sitting in the box, and canucks killed them
off.

Another reason I would like to see Canucks finish this playoff series today, is that those
young players on St. Louis who are trying to adjust to being in the playoffs, will
get a little better with every game, so lets cut it off right now, as they are very
talented, and we haven't seen their best.

I hear that. Ending this series tonite would really give our team even extra confidence. Not to mention time to rest for the next foe.

I super psyched for tonite's game!
Go Canucks Go!!!

I've been searching a lot lately for a new Canucks cap, yet every sporting store I go to has a crappy selection. I'm looking for a plain blue cap, with the logo, pro-fit. Why do I get the feeling that I will have to visit GM place to find what I'm looking for?

That's probably the best way, you could puchase on-line from canucks store, but
then you have to wait for delivery, don't know how long that takes.

Here are the current scores.

Detroit won 4-1(they lead 3 games to 0)

Pittsburgh won 3-1(they lead 3 games to 1)

New Jersey and Carolina are tied 3-3 nearing the end of the 3rd period.

Vancouver and St. Louis are now tied 2-2 at the end of the 2nd period. Vancouver had a 2-0 lead that they coughed up. It better not bite them in the butt.

Anaheim vs San Jose doesn't start until later. San Jose better pick it up, as I have three of them in my pool!:angryfire:

I can see the trend of crashing Luongo was ongoing again.. I would imagine that will continue into the next series unless the Zebras put and end to that dangerous trend..

Way to go Canucks...

 I get to eat my words! They just won. Go Canucks!!!!

Yep, very lucky. On to round 2 BUT the fact of the matter is Stanley Cup contenders DON'T give up 2 goal leads, they had it in the bag in the 2nd period and blew it. Just lucky St. Lou wasn't a Cup contender either.

Burrows scores to win in OT and the Canucks are a team of destiny this year. Luongo has a lot pressure these playoffs to prove himself and he carried the team, no soft goals. The Canucks are hot.

Despite losing a two goal lead they still won, that is what teams on a mission do. A nice rest, recover from injuries and gear up for a tough 2nd round.

St. Louis sure made a big push right after they scored the first goal, it gave them
life and hope. When a team is playing 'one' game that means their season, they
are not going to go down easy, they have lots of pride and desire to win, just like
canucks do. Being up 2-0 is no guarantee of anything, there was still half a game
to play, and to say that they blew a lead and let the other team in is ridiculous, it
gives no respect to St. Louis. It was a 'battle', hard fought by both teams, back and
forth, they were playing for their season, and it showed, good for them, I don't want
to see 'easy' games, that gets boring. We weren't playing a bunch of pylons, we were playing a team just as capable of winning as the canucks are, but the canucks
have a more 'thorough team', better defense, and when the dust settles they seem to come to the forefront and get the job done.
St. Louis's young stars played their best game tonight, and as each game was played those young players were getting better and better, that team has a
very bright future, but not this year.
Congratulations to the canucks, they fought through it, and found a way to win.
Burrows was our hero again, and Luongo had a great game, BUT so did Mason.

GO CANUCKS GO

2-0 in the second period isn't 'anything' in the bag, what do you think the other
team is going to do, give up?
