Very likely talloola, when it comes to hockey savvy I trust your predictions better than mine, but winning the first game, especially if it's on the road is a great psycological bonus, don't you think? I still maintain there is a good chance the Ducks could beat S.J. I have no preference between the two, just would like to see the Canucks delay having to face either of them.

Yes, I predicted that anaheim would beat san jose, Joe Thornton has never
really upt his game in playoffs, don't know why that is, but he seems to have
the one gear, and doesn't go into a higher one, maybe he will this year, we'll see.
Yeah, winning the first game, was a must, in our own building, now if we can
just do it again tonight, we will be sitting pretty going to St. Louis, which will
be a devil of a building to play in, their fans are tremendous, and follow their
team as good as ours do.

If Luongo keeps playing this it doesn't matter how good the other team is.

Yes Luongo has risen to the occasion, playing at the top of his game, and the
goal post shots are going out instead of in too, so that's part of it too.

Team played awsome, can't say enough about them, all heart and pure hockey
talent, and no quit in their game at all.
Can't ask for more than that.
They will have their hands full in St. Louis, but the pressure isn't on canucks now.

Shouldn't be a problem Talloola. The St. Louis coach started sending out goons to fight halfway through the third period so we know where their heads were at. I would say the Canucks should win in five, if not in a four game sweep.

Burrows got tossed around pretty good tonight, but he burned them with a goal, and that is what hurts the most for st. louis, and wellwood was getting mugged
by someone twice his size, although he popped up and it didn't seem to hurt
his play at all, so that stuff doesn't work.

But Bieksa did a stupid thing right at the end too, when he tripped that
player, and started a bit of a donnybrook.

1 goal given up by Luongo in his past 4 games(including the last 2 games of the regular season). Pretty amazing.

Yep, Canucks are playing as good as anyone now and probably very close to their best, even Sundin is starting to earn his wages. BUT I think when it's all over and they look back St. Louis will be one of their easier opponents, it could be Chicago next. But anyway one game at a time.

Yes, and that is the difference in these two games, as St. Louis has played well,
and without Luongo they would have popped in a couple more goals, but canucks
have played well too, and I'm not saying that because of him they won, it is
a total team effort.
St. Louis isn't a poorer team than canucks, they are very disciplined and talented
and have a good coach, as soon as their very young 'stars' get a little more
comfortable with the playoff frenzy, they will be harder to handle by canucks,
and you can see that they were better in game 2 than they were in game 1.
Their power play is awsome, and we don't want to deal with it too often.
They didn't get into the playoffs easily, worked really hard, played playoff type
hockey for the past two months, and finally made it.
If we hadn't of come out of our 'funk' we had in January, when we did, and
started a little later to play well, we would have been fighting them for the
playoffs, along with edmonton, nashville, minnesota and anaheim, and luongo
wasn't playing this well till about 3 weeks before the playoffs, then he still was
a little bit spotty, and has put it together at the perfect time, and he seems
to need this intensity to play his best.

Wow. Washington lost 1-0(Theordore was NOT in net for Washington) and are now down 2 games to 0. I think they still have a chance to come back, but they need to freaking wake up!8O They need to win the next game. If they don't, then it is going to be a 4 game sweep for New York. And that pains me to say, as I cannot stand the Rangers(especially with Avery playing for them).

Sorry taloola...but Louongo IS the reason the Canucks are where they are and why they have won the last 2 games. Louongo and only Louongo.

Nonsense!

The Canucks have scored five goals in the first two games and Luongo hasn't scored any of them. I don't dispute the value of Luongo but somebody has to score goals in order to win games. Let's call it a team effort.

Well of course, when Luongo wasn't tending goal he grabbed his "other stick" skated up the ice and scored all the goals- definitely a one man hockey team....:lol:

Not worth sweating it Juan- he hasn't been very bright on any thread I've seen him post.

The Canucks are good team right now. Three good lines and not afraid to play four. Big strong defense. Lots of hustle and hard work. Throw in a goalie playing at the highest level of the game. Well coached. I give them as good a chance as anyone right now. They aren't the only good team but certainly aren't a pushover in any part of the game.

Any team that is going to go deep into playoffs has to have 'their ' goalie playing
at the top of his game, or it won't happen. It is not 'just' the goalie, as the
goalie is just another member of the team. If our defense decided to sit out
a game, and just the forwards played, along with Luongo, sorry, but we would
be beaten badly, if the defense decided to play without the forwards, along
with Luongo, sorry but we would be beaten badly. They are ALL playing well,
that is what a team 'is', everyone going well. Luongo doesn't score goals, and
without that, he wouldn't win games by himself. Learn about hockey teams,
as you are missing many important functions, maybe you need a tune up.;-)

All the scores from tonight are finals.

Detroit beat Columbus 4-0. I thought Columbus had a chance being down 1 game to 0, but being down 2-0? They're toast.

As mentioned earlier, Washington lost 1-0. They need to learn how to score goals again.

Boston crushed Montreal 5-1. Totally different game than the first one. Montreal is digging themselves into a hole(where is Sublime, by the way?;-))

Chicago just beat Calgary 3-2. While it is the exact same score as Game 1, the Flames had a 2-0 lead in this game. I am surprised they weren't able to keep it. They are now down 2 games to 0. They need to wake up and fire on all cylinders next game otherwise it will be a short series.

If your goalie is playing lousy but your forwards and defense can score 10-15 goals there's a good chance they'll win.:lol::lol: Anyway Chicago beat Calgary which is good but we want them to take 7 games to do it, preferably playing O.T. the final 5 games.

I watched that game, calgary started off as though they were going to win 'big',
but they just couldn't keep up that pace, even though they got out to a 2-0 lead,
then chicago began to come on, (then I went to my movie 'Far Country' james stewart, old western, filmed in Alaska, nice scenery.), oh yeah, where was I, Calgary faded, and chicago didn't. The saddledome will be jumpin when they get
there, just like St. Louis will be jumpin when we get there, so there will be some
exciting games coming.

I know, I'm with you, I wanted rangers to lose 4-0, now 'THIS', what are we going
to do, this is unacceptable. Oh well if they win the series, they will probably have to play Boston I hope, and they will finish them off.
