Just watched the last half of the anaheim/san jose game, san jose just doesn't seem to understand play off hockey, their intensity isn't what it should be for
playoffs, especially thornton, as he looks very passive and slow.
Detroit's level dropped considerably tonight, as their goalkeeping dropped, but they
managed to pull out a 6-5 win.
Didn't see pittsburg game, but tv said phillys goaly raised his play, and closed the door.
New Jersey managed a 1-0 win, now the series is 3-2 for N.J.

Detroit's first chink in their armour has finally happened. Of course, they only played Columbus(who are playing in their first playoff ever), so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that they won. However, the Osgood of old showed up and if he IS hurt(not sure if he is or not, I am just going by what wulfie said above) the Wings are in loads of trouble. If Columbus could have played like this the first 3 games then it would be a totally different series.

San Jose? Man, why did I pick any players for that team in my pool. At least with Washington they are playing well, they are just not getting the breaks. With San Jose it looks like they don't even care. Thornton does not have the makeup for playoff hockey. His intensity is sorely lacking when they need it. Anaheim, when they win(it is a foregone conclusion now), will give Detroit a lot of trouble no matter who is in net for Detroit. That will be a good series.

Pittsburgh looked flat. They still have a 3-2 game advantage, but they NEED to win the next one, otherwise Philly will have all the momentum.

Only one game on tonight. Washington/New York. Please, Washington, for crying out loud...SCORE!!!:-(

I think its funny that on all the forums I frequent, 95% of people (who care about hockey) want the Rangers and especially that twit Avery to get bounced by the Caps...the other 5% being from NYC thus brainwashed into thinking the Rangers are a decent organization...

Yes, Detroit have a little problem, Osgood did look injured last night, not sure
how that will play out, and I guess Columbus just 'got it', too little too late.
It's a good thing Thornton won't be hearing the radio and tv broadcasts from
this area today, or he would just 'walk away' and dissappear, he is being trashed
and talked about so much. No, he can't play playoff hockey, he has his thing
that he does, which is to control the corners and behind the net, keep the
game at 'his' pace, and make nice passes, and turn his body around so that
players can't get to the puck in front of him, well, that all goes out the window
in playoffs as the rest of the teams jump way up a notch, and he is left behind.

Yeah, the washington series is a puzzle, the hockey gods hate washington.

Have a good one, I'm off to my garden.

Washington won their game, so now they are even, with game 7 in washington
coming up, lets go capitals, Torterella behaved similar to his bad boy Avery the
other night, lost his cool, threw a water bottle at a fan, so that is an automatic
game suspension, which he served today. Maybe he and Avery should spend their
summer together.

No canuck news, other than Taylor Pyatt has been with the team for a few days,
and is practicing, he didn't do any skating in the 3 weeks he was gone, so he will
have some catching up to do.

Excellent news Talloola, we want all other teams to play 7 game series, so whoever meets with the Canucks is completely tuckered out. I think we should hope for Calgary as the next opponent, but I kind of think Chicago will eke out the round. Anyway Canucks should be well rested (as they want to be)- hope they got at least one day off from practice.

They were given two days off right after last series, now they are hard at it,
well thought-out practices, and their 'takahashi' guy, who does personal training
for each player, has structured a practice and workout schedule for each player,
during this layoff, depending on their physical condition and injuries, so seems
like they have everything in order and planned.

I was very happy to see that. The only reason the Rangers were even ahead 3 games to 1 was the goaltending of Lundqvist. The last two games he has looked very ordinary, which is great! The Capitols are the team that should be going to Round 2 and now it looks like they will. The Ranger's psyches are toast right now, and I think the Caps will take advantage of it. I will be sooooo happy to see them bounced.

New Jersey and Carolina play in about 10-15 minutes. I believe NJ will pull away with the victory tonight and will win the series 4-2.

Carolina/New Jersey game is very exciting, so evenly matched. Oh oh,
Carolina just scored, (Ray Whitney).

That's what I like to hear Carolina win. Was it Carolina that won the cup two or three years ago? I get mixed up now with so many teams along the Atlantic seaboard, always confuse Carolina and Atlanta.

yes, they did, then the next season they missed the playoffs, go figure aye?
they won 4-0 today, so now game 7, and also game 7 for washington/rangers.
should be exciting.

I am almost certain that Washington will complete the comeback, but I have no idea who will win Game 7 between Carolina and New Jersey.

Hey, methinks the Hurricanes have this one in the bag, ahead 3/0
This is the most even series of all, can't begin to guess who will win overall, but
we will know soon, probably Tuesday, also Washington/rangers.
Monday will be-calgary/chicago-game 6 - and Sane Jose/Anaheim-game 6

both calgary and san jose 'have' to win, or bye bye charlie.

San Jose was lucky to win their last game. They need to play a more complete game(and not cough up a 2-0 lead) if they want to force a Game 7.

I honestly think Calgary is too beat up to pull out 2 more victories, but I wouldn't be upset if they did.

I think they are toast now, but yes, if we meet them, we can beat them up a little more, and send them home.
Yes, San Jose had anaheim 2-0, then had to win it in overtime, so they still
have a lot of holes in their play, and you're right, very lucky, it will save them
a bit of embarrassment at home.

Hi Talloola- What are your predictions for tonight (Apr. 27)?
Mine is Chicago in O.T. and S.J. in O.T. - they are both on the road & with a hungry opposition it's going to take everythng they have.

Blackhawks ahead 1/0 in first two minutes- may not need O.T. Talloola but I'll stick with my original prediction.

Tortorella(head coach of the Rangers) said that all the pressure was on Washington. LOL! Did he not see the last two games? New York has all the pressure on them. Washington knows that Lundqvist can be beat, and they will swarm all over the New York net. Nice try, Torts!:lol:

Oooh oh, Blackhawks up 2/0, still in the first period. I think I'm getting Alzheimers, Calgary has to win tonight don't they? Methinks they're toast, but I hope not.
