Just watched the last half of the anaheim/san jose game, san jose just doesn't seem to understand play off hockey, their intensity isn't what it should be for
playoffs, especially thornton, as he looks very passive and slow.
Detroit's level dropped considerably tonight, as their goalkeeping dropped, but they
managed to pull out a 6-5 win.
Didn't see pittsburg game, but tv said phillys goaly raised his play, and closed the door.
New Jersey managed a 1-0 win, now the series is 3-2 for N.J.
Detroit's first chink in their armour has finally happened. Of course, they only played Columbus(who are playing in their first playoff ever), so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that they won. However, the Osgood of old showed up and if he IS hurt(not sure if he is or not, I am just going by what wulfie said above) the Wings are in loads of trouble. If Columbus could have played like this the first 3 games then it would be a totally different series.
San Jose? Man, why did I pick any players for that team in my pool. At least with Washington they are playing well, they are just not getting the breaks. With San Jose it looks like they don't even care. Thornton does not have the makeup for playoff hockey. His intensity is sorely lacking when they need it. Anaheim, when they win(it is a foregone conclusion now), will give Detroit a lot of trouble no matter who is in net for Detroit. That will be a good series.
Pittsburgh looked flat. They still have a 3-2 game advantage, but they NEED to win the next one, otherwise Philly will have all the momentum.
Only one game on tonight. Washington/New York. Please, Washington, for crying out loud...SCORE!!!:-(
