Nah, there are always work-arounds.

"The militia" is light infantry. Which means that automatic rifles, grenades, and one-man rocket launchers should be unrestricted as standard light infantry weapons. But they aren't, are they?

I'm amused by the "military-style," which apparently now means "kinda looks like a soldier gun, despite the fact that no military now or ever has issued this gun."

Trump saying that there would have been many more dead people without guns is exactly the sort of one dimensional thinking that gun arguments always fall into.

How can a gun do a good thing but not do a bad thing?

The logic is faulty.

Guns don't do anything. They have no free will.

Although Trump went off the rails when he said "hundreds of people" could have been killed if the armed citizen had not shot the mass shooter, he was on the right track.

There is NO logic to that kind of "one dimensional thinking


but as reported on BBC : the solution for many in the US is "MORE GUNS and PRAYER"

that totally defies reason and logic. Shootings followed by prayer is the pattern there now.

Apparently the shooter was wearing body armour, so the 7.62 (or a .30-06) woulda been the best choice. But I agree, I woulda been OK if it had been a .22, or a pistol.

This guy was an instructor as well. A lifetime of preparation came down to one decision.

I hope they strike a medal for him. A brief internet search shows no standing award for exceptional civilian heroism.

Navy taking some bad press for not properly dismissing this guy from the service. His record was not passed along and he was easily able to pass a back ground check.
