That being said this could be the right time for the US to have somebody who likes fixing up old and worn out places into something 'better'. Just because some people are giving him lip service doesn't mean he would get treated like he was Castro or Chavez and all of his reform efforts will be met with sabotage and endless problems to make sure they make as little headway as possible.
The good news is the EU and Mid-east will have their own dance going so nobody will pay much attention to North America.
Does America spend a lot on trials and long investigations or hand it off to the UN and put the elite on trial and allow them to be the models for how well the new tracking devices are at keeping a tempted man on the straight and narrow.
The ones handed over would be a slam/dunk trial due to video evidence and other media that shows guilt so only the sentencing would be the real issue. Viewer participation if you want the Roman Coliseum flavor to be added to the mix and subscription fees would pay for the investigations for the more complicated cases. Iceland went after bankers and politicians. In the US that would be Wall St and corporations that are currently shielded from in-depth investigations.
Is the TV Series 'Designated Survivor' a mockumentary of Trump getting the position of President and he is viewed as being green at best and incompetent at worst. In the last 'sode' members of Congress just 'blackmailed him' for the first time by offering their support rather than they over-rule him in public.

Obama's govt has started giving the Donald daily security briefs (It's rumoured the Donald prefers tighty whiteys). The uncivilized servants have started preparing for the Trump crew to arrive. Some will be packing their things for an anticipated layoff.

I could probably explain a thing or two to you about the US system as well as multiple other political; systems. After all I did teach political science for about 30 years. And I do worry about Canada's system - it has lots of faults, but that does not change the fact that the US political system is badly broken. And by the way, I have the right to express my view on every subject; I don't live in Trump's America.

Read my original post! 11 millions people entering any country with the absence of any security vetting is a security issue.
Why? Does the danger only exist for 'some' type of people, ISIS perhaps? Should all others wanting to enter another country be allowed to simply walk in, no need to validate their identities (security only being the subject of the argument here)? Will the majority of these walk-in simply be looking for a better life, or in need of a change? What are the chances that none of them are running away for other reasons? Are all 11 millions illegal Mexicans in the US good citizens? Perhaps, who knows, they weren't checked.

Who knows? But I think Trump is more of a negotiator and will be able to work with Congress better than Obama did.
I have seen so many politicians interviewed who were against Trump and when they met him said that he was nothing like they thought he would be; polite, gracious, etc. I imagine he will use those skills and win over rather than defy his detractors.
