That being said this could be the right time for the US to have somebody who likes fixing up old and worn out places into something 'better'. Does America spend a lot on trials and long investigations or hand it off to the UN and put the elite on trial and allow them to be the models for how well the new tracking devices are at keeping a tempted man on the straight and narrow.
The ones handed over would be a slam/dunk trial due to video evidence and other media that shows guilt so only the sentencing would be the real issue. Viewer participation if you want the Roman Coliseum flavor to be added to the mix and subscription fees would pay for the investigations for the more complicated cases. Iceland went after bankers and politicians. In the US that would be Wall St and corporations that are currently shielded from in-depth investigations.

In the last 'sode' members of Congress just 'blackmailed him' for the first time by offering their support rather than they over-rule him in public.
