Yep the arrogance of the 'intelligentia' and media during the campaign was underwhelming.. as was their post mortems which have characterised the the vote as 'reactionary, regressive.. and driven solely by chauvinistic demographics'.

In fact it was a complete repudiation of the Establishment post structural, free market solutions which have ground down the nation for 5 decades. They've completely missed that this was the result of deep and superceding currents in American society that have been coalescing for years.

It was in fact progressive, constructive and above all integral to all segments of the American people. And it was just the start of what has to be done to reform a bankrupt system (economically and morally).

Precisely. As a result of civil rights progress, only a small percentage of Americans are actively white supremacists. It's simply that equality isn't a priority for them. So if something (like money) can be had for the price of a little race hate, it's a small price to pay.

If he thinks the 10,000-man factory is coming back, he's in for a big disappointment.

TB, if you do not produce you do not survive.

There's nothing to worry about when it comes to immigration.

People are disproportionately concerned about it.

The Germans are disproportionately concerned? While thier wives, daughters and mothers are gropped and or raped by military age single Immigrants who have been hired for that exact provocative action.

OK, so you can't explain why the 11 million or so immigrants in the U.S. are a security threat.

I didn't think so, but thanks for confirming it.

What % are Canadian? Canada is awesome at having people leave.

Apparently almost 10% of the number you give.

Shocking!

Canadian diaspora
The Canadian diaspora is the group of Canadians living outside the borders of Canada. As of a 2010 report by the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, there were 2.8 million Canadian citizens abroad (plus an unknown number of former citizens and descendents of citizens). For comparison, that is a larger population than six of the ten Canadian provinces. More than 9% of all Canadian citizens live outside of Canada. That compares to 1.7% of Americans, 2.6% of Chinese citizens, 3.3% of French citizens, 4.3% of Australians, 9% of British citizens, and 21.9% of New Zealanders.[1]

In past decades, most Canadians leaving the country have moved to the United States. In the 1980s, Los Angeles had the fourth largest Canadian population of any city in North America, with New York close behind. Other countries and cities have emerged as major sites of Canadian settlement, notably Hong Kong, London, Beirut, Sydney, Paris, and Dubai. The population in New York experienced continued growth in the 2000s, doubling between 2000 and 2008 to 21,000, representing the eighth largest foreign-born group in the Borough of Manhattan. [2]

Many Canadians in the United States are there without legal permission; a 2008 report by the Urban Institute estimated that "65,000 and 75,000 undocumented Canadians currently live in the United States"

I guess it depends on who's doing the worry. Personally I'd worry. Are they paying their own food, shelter, transportation and health care? Do they have an independent income so they are not taking jobs that should go to unemployed Canadians. (or Americans in the U.S.)

Speaking of the U.S., immigrants as a class pay in more and take out less than the native-born.

I'd imagine that's even more true of illegals, seeing as how they generally don't use public services for fear of La Migra.

From looking at the Dow Jones figures the past two days, I'd guess the Yanks are ecstatic about their new President. Probably had more than their fill of that Clinton regime.............25 years is a long time. Well I guess not quite their fill yet, I'd guess they will continue between the two of them to suck $1/2 million a year out of the public purse!

I'm guessing their combined federal pension far exceed $500,000/year without including all the benefits.

The stock market rally continued for a second day after Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton, a reaction few expected.
The Dow rose 218 points Thursday and closed at a record high for the second day in a row.

BEX ALERT - ELECTION COULD STILL RESULT IN TRUMP-CLINTON TIE: ANALYST
Tags: CORPORATE MEDIA COVER-UP/DECEPTIONS/PROPAGANDA POLITICS/ELECTIONS/CORRUPTION
As of Thursday, three states remain electoral toss-ups, according to Associated Press projections: New Hampshire, Michigan and Arizona. If Hillary Clinton wins the combined 31 electoral votes from those states, she will still be short of Donald Trump’s 279 votes, more than the 270 needed to win the presidency.

However, AP analyst Michael McDonald, who teaches political science at the University of Florida and runs the United States Elections Project, an election statistics website, says he is skeptical that Trump won Wisconsin, as the AP projected. If that state flips for Clinton and she wins the other toss-up states, she and Trump could be in a tie at 269 votes each.
