Qasem Soleimani was evil — so of course Jeremy Corbyn and Co condemn the US

THE great poet John Donne once said: “Any man’s death diminishes me.” Which is a lovely, noble thought.
This quote sprang to mind when I read about the Iranian military boss Qasem Soleimani being evaporated by a very large missile sent by the Yankees.

“Bang!” went the missile — and no more Qasem. Do I feel diminished, I wondered, very briefly?
Nah, I concluded, sod that. Good shot. And good riddance. I felt no more regret than when I squash a tick from my dog’s back.
Soleimani was a vile man. He orchestrated terrorist attacks which caused death, misery and mayhem for millions across the Middle East and beyond.
He was in Iraq planning attacks against our own forces as well as American ones. And he was doing so in the service of a country which has a pretty good claim to being the worst in the world — Iran.
‘Nest of barbarians’
Hell, even North Korea can’t match Iran for its support of worldwide terrorism and the multiple murders in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Yemen.
Iran is a pariah state, a thoroughly odious religious dictatorship, under which homosexuals are executed, Christians and Jews persecuted.
Where there is no freedom of speech, no freedom of conscience, no freedom for women to wear what they want or do what they want.
An economically wrecked Stone Age nest of barbarians whose government has spent the past 40 years waging war against anyone and everyone — but largely, it has to be said, other Muslim nations.
Oh, and shoring up its malign influence across the whole of the wretched Middle East. And trying very hard to develop nuclear weapons so it can cause even more devastation — mainly to the area’s only democracy, our ally Israel.
Corbyn's soft spot
No wonder, then, that Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour leader, has a soft spot for Iran. It hates us — and therefore the deluded halfwit is on its side. Asked about the killing of Soleimani, he denounced the US (as ever) and refused to accept that Soleimani was a terrorist.
Meanwhile, so-called “experts” have been suggesting Donald Trump’s missile strike will increase tensions and could even lead to a Third World War.
What rubbish. As my dad might have put it, Iran doesn’t have a pot to p**s in.
The same experts were saying Iran would wait and carefully consider its options before launching some devastating attack. Wrong, wrong again.
It waited about half an hour before lobbing a bunch of crap rockets at US bases, which killed no American soldiers at all, according to reports.

I’m not in favour of getting involved in the Middle East’s politics, unless they are targeting our people or our interests.
I was against the invasion of Iraq and against the bombing of Libya. Against our involvement in Syria, too.
But here was a clear case where an agent from a hugely hostile foreign government was fomenting trouble in a country — Iraq — full of US and British troops.
One missile got rid of him. Another might get rid of whoever takes his place. Countries such as Iran need to know that the tide has turned. We won’t put up with their continual sponsorship of terrorism.
Let them respond as they fit — and see how far it gets them.
It would be a gift to the people of that once great country, Persia, to similarly evaporate all of their leaders.
