And....you're a moron.
And perhaps crazy as well.
:)
Your response to being shown incorrect in the handgun vs bear debate, and your response to someone politely disagreeing with you demonstrates that very well.
Have a nice day.
Hope they take your guns away, Sociopath.

Yeah, I'm A sociopath because I firmly believe that random vigilantes shouldn't be allowed to arm themselves.

That is the working definition of "Sociopath".

Yep. Handguns work on bears, black bears especially. Grizzly, polar and Brown Bears? Well, better than throwing rocks or running.

Mind you, I think bear spray is at least as effective, but it isn't much good as a survival tool if you get hurt or lost.

Were I allowed to carry in the woods, I'd probably carry a .22 most of the time, or get some .38 shot cartridges for my .357 Magnum, and carry it.
Shot Cartridges don't work well on a rifled barrel, tried them, The partrige just flew away,
The shot just spread all around the bird in an O pattern.
Try it at the range, you'll see what I mean!
It's a good thing I had only hand loaded two shells, the second one I tried at the club, you would be surprised at the size of that O pattern at 30 feet.
I went back to my old way of shooting in the dirt, just about 4 inches in front of it in the ground and the dirt would knock the wind out of it and if I ran fast enough I would be able to grab it and wring it's neck before it flew away.

I do approve of an armed citizenry.
Anyone with a knowledge of history, human nature, current events in the world, and has a lick of common sense does approve of an armed citizenry.
And carrying in the woods is a matter of convenience to me. In deer season I could carry a rifle and a single shot break action smooth bore pistol in .410 shotgun for grouse.
When hiking, I could dispense with lugging a rifle around, and carry a .22....or my .357.
Considering the fact I am allowed to carry a long gun with 10 times the effective range and 5 times the power of my .357 Magnum, why shouldn't I be able to carry a pistol in the woods?
That's what gun grabbers and freedom haters do not understand........if you are going to restrict my freedom, you need to have a rational reason.
There is no reason to ban handguns in the woods.
The second paragraph eliminated CC and hoid from the equation.

Northern Ontario,
Man... are you ever stupid.... A that distance, if that sow attacks the air horn will not help.....
But the air horn has it's use.....
I have used it from the safety of my pick-up to chase bears away from the public dumping site at the municipal dump when I had garbage to bring there....
Every tool has it's use

Leave the most watched, checked out, and peaceful subculture in Canada alone.
Gun owners may be compared with other Canadians by calculating the homicide rate per 100,000. Statistics Canada reports that 194 licensed gun owners were accused of committing murder over the 16-year period (1997-2012), or an average of 12 owners per year out of an annual average of 2 million licensed firearms owners. This gives a homicide rate of 0.60 per 100,000 licensed gun owners. Over the same 16-year period, there were 9,315 homicides in total, or an average national homicide rate of 1.81 per 100,000 people in the general population (including gun owners). In other words, Canadians who do not have a firearms license are three times more likely to commit murder than those who have a license.

Let me put that in perspective for you..........look out your window. The next person you see, man, woman, child, babe in a stroller, is (statistically speaking) three times as apt to kill you as is a licensed gun owner, despite the fact the vast majority of us are male, all are adults, and we have by definition easy access to guns.
If the Liberal gov't is so desperate to virtue signal, they should go bully someone else for a change.
