I picked up Fallout 3 over the weekend, it's amazing. One of the best looking games I have seen, the gameplay is quite good too.

Shadow, did you end up nuking the town?

Durka, I am still playing Fallout 1. I had to play it from Gametap as my CDs would not install correctly and it would crash whenever an enemy hit me with a melee attack. I had to perform a manual install since it said my version of DirectX was not good enough(even though the DX they have on the disc is a looooot older than what I have on my PC. Something must have gone screwy during the install. I tried keeping the disc in the drive, using both Win95 and Win98 emulation, and it is installed to the latest official patch that the game has. Heck, I even set my Control Panel settings to 800x600 and it still didn't work.

The only problem with Fallout 1 on Gametap is that it is version 1.0(the unpatched version). I do not know the bugs that 1.1 fixed, but I do know that the unpatched version has a couple of really BIG bugs. At least you are LEGALLY allowed to play the game for free there.

I am just about to enter the Radscorpion Caves after just completing Vault 15. How's that for a blast from the past, eh?

As far as Fallout 3 goes, I have heard both good things and bad things about it. I think a lot of the people who don't like it just don't like the fact that it looks different than the first two games. Any major bugs to worry about, Durk?

I have had a couple CTD's (crash to desktop) but that was due to some conflicting software on my system. Overall, it is a very beautiful and engaging game, provided your system can keep up with it.

You're sure making me want to abandon my quest to play all of the Fallout games in a row, Durka!:lol:

(Except for that crappy BOS game they had for the consoles. I heard that one sucked mightily.:p)

I am playing on PS3. I just rented CoD: World at War. I am probably going to buy it. It's pretty good. Same graphics as CoD 4, but new weapons (flame throwers) which means updating the physics engine to include flames. The online gameplay is even better too. Give it a try.

I started installing Fallout 2 just yesterday, dug it out. I think you'll have a blast playing F2 (imo) the best of the series.

I started with Doom when the addiction set in. We played the **** right out of that game first hooked up over 33.6 modem and then multiplayer on a server. Went to my first lan party to play Doom II. Then Quake came out. Even better play and the DM was something else. Got into my first Clan in Quake. QIII Arena was about where I peaked, played a lot of team dm and CTF. I would say CTF was the closest version of the FPS that really got me. I played that **** for hours, at work, at home, it was pretty involved for a while.

I really liked War craft II and Diablo but never really got into WOW.

I am now quite a bit settled in my ways and don't play all that much. I do have a Wii and will pick up an Xbox360 for xmas. I play Assassin's Creed by UBIsoft for the PC. Though it's got some bugs, I like the stealth killing and then folding back into the crowd or escaping to the rooftops. As well the layered story lines. My son now worked for Ubisoft so I hope to get a lot of free stuff. ;)

If anyone is looking for a new game to play, I highly suggest you purchase "Left 4 dead". It is from the maker of Half Life, Counterstrike etc. The premise of the game is killing lots of zombies. You can play 4 player online co-operative or play vs mode which pits the Survivors against the Zombies, you can play either of the two.

I played assassin's creed for PS3 and I enjoyed it. It was short on normal difficulty, but it was fun. Sneaking around is really cool and then you walk up and stab them in the back then turn into a monk and hide...

I have COD WAW for PC, it's not nearly as refined or as exciting as COD4 in my opinion. The WW2 setting is pretty tired, not to mention most of the weapons blow.

There is something quite disturbingly appealing about doing that. heh heh
Leaping from a short height and bringing down the hidden blade through the neck is also very exhilarating which I also find scary about myself.

I would never be able to do it in real life, but I was reading an article once in my local newspaper about how video games allow people to let out there anger and unleash their bad side (something I normally reserve for my younger brother ;-))

Don't even remind me how much better X-box live is then PS3 Network. Especially since all my friends have X-Box 360 and I have PS3 (a lot better of course). The newest rockband and guitar hero games should be good too.

That game is out already? I didn't think it was coming out until the new year!8O

The games looks awesome, and PC Gamer thinks it is going to be a huge seller.

Dang. You're talking about the console version.:-(

Maybe some other day, perhaps on the weeknd if we are both available.

Should start some sort of Canadian Content clan or at least game session times.;-)

If we had a BF2 Canadian Content Clan I'd be running behind you with C4 and blasting you hundreds of feet into the air.

good old BF2, I loved that game. I liked doing the jihad jeeps the best... load it full of C4 and drive toward a bunch of people, hop out and detonate.

I have the monitor hooked up to the t.v., and with 2 remotes and a split screen, I'm involved in a hot online game of chess with a guy in France, and checkers with a blighter in the UK. Getting my checkered ass pounded.

Far as vid. games, ain't got one. Might in the future. Everything costs so dang much, and I've got me financial priorities pretty much given, and there ain't much wiggle room.

Sooner buy a new set of strings. or a 6 pack.

Nothing worse than plugging along in an AFV and seeing a guy jump out of a transport vehicle as he is heading at you doing 60 MPH.

"NOOOOOOOOOO!"
BOOM!
