Now you are on the right track, JLM........good on you.

Well, as that is a lot like most of us, he also has a lot of good ideas. I don't think you want to underestimate his intelligence, just because he's a little impetuous and excitable. I like him because he calls things as he sees them for one thing. I think once he gets past his "growing pains" he may be one of the best presidents ever, but it might take a year or two.

Yeah, well maybe, but when a guy has to listen to the inane mutterings of three imbeciles all in the same day, a guy's thinking could get a little distorted!

Bashir Khan, a Winnipeg immigration lawyer working with 17 of the asylum seekers, told CTV News Channel Thursday that there is a strong incentive for the people to come north.“In my experience, 80 to 90 per cent of the people who are denied asylum in the United States do end up winning their refugee claim before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada,” Khan said.

Khan explained that everyone who enters Canada and makes a claim “is vetted for security” using American, European and Interpol databases.

They have two weeks after arriving to make a claim. They have access to legal aid and social assistance until they get a hearing before the Immigration and Refugee Board.

Since the beginning of January, at least 61 asylum seekers have crossed the border into Manitoba from the U.S., often dropped by smugglers and told to walk long distances in the middle of the night. That’s compared to between 50 and 60 in a typical year.

In 2016 there were 7,022 land border crossings by asylum seekers, up from 4,407 in 2015, according to the Canadian Border Services Agency.

Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale said Tuesday that “people travelling unprepared in very severe winter weather conditions” is “of concern to us.”

“We are examining right now what are the appropriate steps to take to protect the integrity of the border, to make sure that public health and safety is properly protected and to make sure that the people involved here are treated in a fair and compassionate way,” Goodale added.

If the US doesn't want them why would we? ANd why should my tax $$$$$ be squandered feeding and medicating a bunch of people with no legal right to be in the country? There is a legitimate process to apply for entrance to Canada even as a refugee and these illegals are not following it.

I apologize. I did not realize you were suffering from multiple personality disorder. I suggest you see a doctor. It may be treatable.

Perhaps! Just a Piss poor Prime Minister. Should have kept Harper, at least he knew what he doing & had enough brains to keep his thoughts "pretty close to the vest" :) :)

Says the man who thinks the Dumpster is a great president.

Just in comparison to what Hillary would be or to the past 10 or so presidents!

And people disagree with me when I tell them that Justin is absolutely useless just like his old man. Probably even worse, I did respect P.E.T. when he said "just watch me". :) :) The "acorn" possible did roll a couple of feet from the tree. Of course they had different Mothers! Margaret was totally bug house!

Mr. Ralph Goodale should be reminded that the homeless people living under the bridges across the country need some concern too.

He should also save a little 'fair and compassionate' for the Native Indians who live in substandard conditions, whose suicide rate is horrendous. The Liberals used them to get elected by making big promises and have since not improved anything.

He should save a little 'fair and compassionate' for the citizens in need of critical health care who wait in line because the system is overburdened and inadequate for the present population.

He should save a little 'fair and compassionate' for the stressed out families who work their butts off trying to provide for their families. And the families who go without because they can't get jobs while government recklessly runs up our deficit to show compassion to foreigners. A debt that those families will be burdened with.

And how about the legal immigrants who came here to get away from others of their nations who were making their lives miserable? Don't they deserve some 'fair and compassionate' too?
Oh I know, I know, they are closely vetted. Yeah, right! It would be interesting to see how that is done, from start to finish not just to have politicians tell us how it is done.

It's easy for government officials who live in the lap of luxury to ignore what their own people are going through. They don't have to worry about how their bills will get paid or have to look at the conditions that the forgotten members of society live in.
It makes them look generous in the eyes of the world to give away OUR money and OUR resources to foreigners.
I wonder how much the politicians contribute out of their own pockets to the refugees or how many they have personally taken into their fancy homes?

That's been my contention all along with this Trudeau A$$hole, I doubt if the guy has done an honest day's work in his life outside of teaching drama.:) :) :) Not even a hint of moxie, gumption or sagacity!
