As a former hard working and productive Gov.'t employee I have to say you are a
*(^&%$^ a$$hole, Avro, besides the fact you don't know what you are talking about.
Agreed.

Does that mean you're still a gov't employee, just one who doesn't work hard anymore, and isn't productive?

I see that not even eaglesmack wants to address my assertion that Chavez is only a kindergarten bully compared to the US tyranny and terrorism has been inflicting on the world. It is funny that when a subject gets too intense a bout of personal insults breaks out.

I find this hysterical. The US has been propping up some of the most violent despots in dozens of countries for more than 50 years, training death squads for third world tyrants, engaged in assassinations and toppling duly elected governments, and waging wars all over the place, and you have the balls to criticize Chavez.

I know plenty of American expats who saw the absurdity of US foreign policy decades ago and could not stand to be associated with it any more. When are you going to grow up? America maintains its life style by oppressing the rest of the world.

Ahhhh...here it is. I agree in your assumption as Chavez being a kindergarten bully. He is.

He is a worm who's worst nightmare was the election of President Obama. Now he has nobody to blame for the woes of his country and very few people are paying attention to him. A pre-school yard bully...whom the left adores because he hates America much like they do.

Cheer up Clifford...we haven't oppressed you yet.

There is that Yanky arrogance rearing its ugly head again. The subject was Chavez and it deteriorated into name calling over Canadian government employee performance. Really, I don't care what your opinion is as you are incapable of objective thinking when it comes to your countries involvement in world politics. You guys are brainwashed from birth to believe the US is the greatest country in the world and that all others exist for no other purpose than to feed your insatiable appetite to pillage the world of resources to maintain your unsustainable elitist life style.

No, guvmint workers are overpaid lazy do nothings who have no idea how the real world works.

It's like workfare....eh Walt?

My father was a very hard working government employee for many years, and being a combat veteran of WWII, I suggest to you that he had a much more accurate sense of the real world than you do. And he made real contributions to it. Have you?

Well that is what you are looking for right? It is what you want to read is it not?

You feel so bad about yourself and your lot in life so you feel the need to attack others.

You even attack your own country...saying Canada is not a democracy. You poor oppressed Canuck. Do you not have plenty of hockey to watch? Do you not have plenty of Maple Syrup for your pancakes? Do you not have plenty of ice for your igloos?

What are you whinning about?

Really, I don't care what your opinion is as you are incapable of objective thinking when it comes to your countries involvement in world politics.

LOL. Sure you do...you called out my name seeking my input.

Yes. just as some of you Canadians think...

"Those arrogant Americans think they are the best...everyone knows that we Canadians are the best!"

Oh yes...we are pillaging...just like the days of the Vikings!

Another (more gracious) way of stating my point of view.

Venezuela begins 2010 with electricity rationing
Jan 2 03:35 PM US/Eastern
Good for Hugo. At least they are being upfront about it.

But back here in our fascist part of the world.....

Coming to Canada very very soon. Telephone, TV and internet will be offered over powerlines as well as "Smart" meters and appliances.

Smart meters can shut off residential supplies to divert to industry for more $$$.

Soon electricity useage rates will vary between daytime and night as it becomes a traded commodity.

How do you like them apples?

Time for people to solar up and restrict their own usage. How many electrical gadgets does each person need anyway?

Refrigeration is probably the biggest user other than heating if you use it. Come up with a heat exchanger for food storage that uses the CDN climate to it's advantage.

I have a non working freezer in the garage that Is filled in fall and emptied by spring so why can't my indoor fridge use the cold cold ground through winter and suppliment in summer?

Make me one Cliff.

Want a solar domestic hot water system? I know how to get a $6000 unit for sweet FA if you are feeling green but lack the green.

You can get just about anything in 12 volt made for campers, motor homes and RVs.
Only the surface of the ground is cold, the frost line depends on where you are. Below frost line is 52 degrees Fahrenheit. Not very cold in summer. I have one of those car coolers that plugs into a cigarette lighter. Depending how you put the wires together, you can heat or cool with it. You can buy the ceramic units separately and build a larger cooler for summer to run on 12 volt. Doesn't take a lot of ingenuity. Best to dry most stuff anyway, as it doesn't lose any food value. Solar dryers are easy to make for around 50 - 100 bucks.

You can easily convert one of those big old satellite dishes into a parabolic mirror to use as a solar oven to cook with. Tons a books out there on how to build all kinds of alternative stuff to help get you off grid.
