That part is true but it just lowers the pier to their level.
Really? Did court jesters mocking royalty lower them to that level? Showing asses to be asses isn't lowering anything.

Just depends what standard you want to adhere to- never found that fighting ignorance with ignorance works very well.

What? You mean mooning? I guess that would be a form of "ass-ault", wouldn't it?

Well seriously, I'm against throwing things at anyone just to get some attention. Kind of like a temper tantrum that went bad. Besides, why waste a perfectly good pie...Food should not be wasted!

lol If you tell a joke to a child, do you tell one that you are capable of understanding at your level, or do you tell the child one that they can understand? I have a suspicion that you'd tell one that the child could understand. So in that case, would you be lowering yourself to a childish level?

I don't think the girl threw the pie at the pol. I think she walked up and mushed it right into her face. lol If she'd thrown it, the pie might have missed.

And that constitutes assault.
That's up to the courts of law to determine. Some things that are against the law shouldn't be against the law. lol
Personally I can't see a big diff between a comedian getting egged by an audience and a pol being pied in the face.

I wonder what you would think if a stranger walked up and smacked you in the face.

I know what I'd think.

Just because she's a cabinet minister, doesn't mean she's a fair target.
People are not free to rape strippers just because they are strippers.

I doubt I'd stand there thinking long enough for him to smack me in the first place. I can duck just by pure reaction.

That's a matter of opinion. Besides, it could've been a lot worse and she'd have been decked by a shoe. People do that sort of thing, too.

So mushing a whipped cream pie in someone's face is the same as raping or smacking them?

So Anna........if I make a political statement by shooting some SOB of a politician I can't stand......does that make it acceptable?

The analogy is extreme, I admit.......but it fits. A pie in the face causes harm, it is an assault.........political statement or not.

No, but the jesters usually ended up having this happen to them if they went too far.

Ouch!;-)
