Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the pie,er from New york? Was she not arrested last year for some sort of seal related terrorism on PEI? If so,if she is from NY and was in fact arrested in Canada last year, what was she doing at that meeting/rally?I thought "they" were s'posed to make it harder for criminals to get accross the border?

I think that's all a bit one-sided ;-)

Oh... that's a WHOLE other topic juan... the question there is, can groups like PETA be called terrorist groups....

"When someone actually coaches or conducts criminal behaviour to impose a political agenda on each and every other citizen of Canada, that does seem to me to meet the test of a terrorist organization," the member from Newfoundland and Labrador said in an interview from Ottawa with radio station VOCM in St. John's, N.L.
"I am calling on the Government of Canada to actually investigate whether or not this organization, PETA, is acting as a terrorist organization under the test that exists under Canadian law."

... if an individual gets disgruntled and targets someone, that's one thing... that's assault. But, if an organization is going to set out to encourage assault against individual politicians and attempt to strong arm and intimidate in order to have its political agenda met, then I think bringing up words like terrorism IS quite suitable.

It is hard to disagree with you Karrie but probably even harder to prove. I'm sure PETA has more than enough layers to protect anyone in any authority from any charges.

I used to think that pieing was a great way to make a political statement but it has become too dangerous for the pie-er. taking a taser or a bullet would be an extreme price to pay.

It is senseless in todays world. The fur is not needed nor is the blood money it brings either. Sort of like the moonshiners in Tenn., most of them have moved on to regular jobs. Times are changing.

Its not senseless... Food and fur...

Food and fur sure...$$$?....So just how big is the seal market ..really?..

How about a Canadian seal Burger at McD's...or a seal fur coat from Wallmart?..

Still a senseless slaughter...Killing ..no matter how you wanna look at it..

Humans are the #1 predator of everything....

Would you eat a people Pie?...Guess Some would...No thanks...

Maybe shoulda asked Minister Gail Shea to eat a Seal heart right there on the stage for the Camera and smile ...That woulda been more appropriate than a pie ...

This was absolutely assault.

The question of whether this should be considered ‘terrorism’ is absolutely laughable, though; in fact, I would argue that charges of terrorism should not exist anywhere in the Criminal Code. All potential acts of terrorism are already covered under other provisions of the Code—the multitude of new offences that have been added are entirely unnecessary and only seek to lip service the public.

I have to confess, those baby seals look delicious to me, cotten candy with eyes. A bear told me that one day on the bus to the zoo, the one out past the chicken factory accross the street from the frozen baby beef burger building behind BallMart adjacent to the pie plate plant.

You could say that about a lot of legislation and law. Most of it is lip.

Yes it is assault and deserves jail time and a hefty fine. Also barred from entering Canada.

The seal hunt protest was a publicity stunt by Bridgit Bardo. If this hunt should be abolished better include all hunting, killing of beef (meat), poultry, lobster where you dunk the live lobster in boiling water, all fishing because they are allowed to suffocate to death and about everything we eat that has to be killed to feed us. At least seal fur keeps us warm especially in very cold climates.

Seals are not disappearing in fact there are too many and are depleting the fish stocks.

I think she should be charged with assault and never be allowed back in Canada. PETA comes across as more and more of a nutbar group every time I read about their latest idiocy in the news.

Oh, and here is something for the PETA people to chew on...
