Cliffy: Obama NEVER appeared sincere to me. Save for he has a serious bent to the left. And all the hulla balloo over his grand oratory skills! HA! you have got to be kidding??? In between his hmms and uhhs there are a whole lot of words that amount to nothing. BAG OF WIND.
Well, obviously most people believed he was sincere, otherwise he wouldn't be Da Prez. At least he appears to be coherent compared to Dubbya. But you glossed over the point of my post. There is no one out there who has any integrity who would want the job. They would be eaten alive by those who are really in control.

CLiffy's wisdom on this matter brings to light a fact that cannot be overlooked. No one will appear and there will be no way to reinvent any of the current dullards. Well then. How easy is it to become a Canadian citizen? Maybe I can move next door to Sleeper.

Yep, when you start comparing presidents you are on a slippery slope, they are dealing with different situations at a different time. I'm not sure if the electorate is treating Obama too fairly. I think the poor guy is doing his best. Electorate wants everything and then screams blue bloody murder when they have a problem paying for it.
Everything was on the table but the no party did nothing but protect their friends pocket books through organized chaos and bullish!t.

The fundraising haul brings the DCCC’s total cash on hand to $21.6 million, double the amount of cash it had at the same point last year, according to a DCCC aide.
The government shutdown fueled a large portion of the committee’s fundraising this cycle, per the aide. About $2 million of the record-breaking haul came from online donations following GOP Sen. Ted Cruz’s filibuster.
The National Republican Congressional Committee has not released its September fundraising tally yet, according to an aide.

The Individual Mandate of Obamacare has caused pain to millions; but it is minor compared to what's coming in the next phase with the Employer Mandate. Small businesses will reduce hiring or cut employees back to part time in order to avoid the mandate. Big businesses will force employees to bear a bigger share of increased insurance costs. Any way you look at it most people will have declining disposable income as a direct result of Obamacare. That translates into decreased living standards. Caligula would have been a better president.

Take a step back from the polemical cauldron. It really doesn't matter which side wins the next election. America is a complex interrelated series of systems...political, social, economic, etc. Are you familiar with the theory of Systems Dynamics?
There is a book I recommend for your perusal. It's by Joseph Tainter. The book is The Collapse of Complex Societies. It's basic contention is that societies become complex in order to sustain themselves in the face of external forces and phenomena. Energy and resources are required to deal with these forces and phenomena. Dealing with each new force or phenomenon requires the development of a new system. But the point comes when societal homeostasis can't be maintained. In economics this is called the Law of Diminishing Returns.
Ultimately, when that point is reached societal systems are stressed and start to fail one after the other. The family in America and the K-12 public school system are examples of systems failure in the US. The transfer of much of the US manufacturing base to China is another example of system failure.
When sufficient societal systems have failed critical mass is reached. And then there is societal collapse. That's what America is starting to experience.

The coming elections are just a question of moving the deckchairs on the main deck of the good ship Titanic. It doesn't matter who captains the Titanic. You and your fellow leftists are simply seeking to be the last people to drown when the Titanic goes down.
No question about it. It makes me wonder if the Administration knew ahead that the roll out was going to be such a disaster and they would be able to handle the individual mandate but the employer mandate would just be too much. And the so called Obama fix does not really fix the problem it simply pushes the problem past the mid-term elections. If his fix takes hold this all happens again next November. Also, this fix does not mandate that people can keep their plans for a year, it says the insurance companies can allow them to keep them for a year if the insurance companies want. Obama is hoping that the insurance companies can quiet everyone down. The State of Washington has already said they cannot do that and people who have had their policies cancelled are going to have to get new ones... PERIOD.

I agree. And we haven't even mentioned the inevitable decline of health care quality under Obamacare. Insurance companies will limit the pool of doctors available to the recipients of health care under Obamacare in order to survive the requirements the law imposes on them. Not all doctors are equal in skill and ability. In order to make the new law work the quality of healthcare available to most Americans will inevitably decline. Sooner or later Americans will realize this.
The insurance companies are not going to see the benefits on turning on a dime and offering those cancelled policies back (for a year after) investing so much in changing and cancelling them BECAUSE the the ACA Law.
The House GOP plan will kill Obamacare.
And shockingly...the Senate Democrat plan may kill Obamacare as well.
I am guessing the next Dem strategy is to put the blame on insurance companies for not reinstating plans that they were forced by law to cancel in the first place.
"Hey... we told the insurance companies to give you your plans back but they don't want to. Don't blame us."
And where does the President get the idea that he can change a law that Congress has passed?
