The world economy is not sustainable, in fact it is circling the drain right now. We can have all the gold in the world, but if the world economy tanks, and I'm sure it will sooner or later, if we have no one to buy our stuff, we go down the drain too. For decades the boom made a lot of people rich, until they ran out of trees. Nobody thought that could possibly happen. There are two sides to this Cliffy. There are some people who sock money away (for a rainy day) during boom times, and there are others who spend all they make during the boom. Every person in this situation has the choice of which side they want to belong to. :smile:

Hate to disillusion you but BC was a colony before joining Canada. AND we have a nifty ocean to ship oil across to countries that are willing to PAY for it.

And Canada had to pay off BC's massive debt, and build a railroad. I wonder if it was a good deal? If it weren't for Canada, it would be part of the US, and likely Alberta would, too.
