Illegal occupation of what? Israel offered Gaza back to Egypt after the 67 war. They didn't want it. The Arabs never declared a state on the land. You can't occupy land that nobody else claimed, it was up for grabs. Even still, Israel gave it up in hopes of peace. What have the Arabs given up for peace?
Very few were kicked out, most fled thinking they were getting out of the way of a massacre of Jews. Millions of people were displaced "out of where they used to live" in the 1940's. Only the Palestinian Arabs are still refugees.

As I have pointed out numerous times before, Israel works very hard, with excellent success at avoiding civilian casualties. There are civilian casualties, of course, but not nearly as many as one would expect when they have to attack an enemy hiding among the population in one of the most crowded places on earth.
