Now Israel pays the price for its greed and its need to be king of the world. Nazi Germany's was death. I'd say they're getting a bargain....

Again, what makes Israeli belligerance any better than the greed of tyrants throughout time? Is there a Hebrew (or Yiddish) word for compromise? Perhaps if they were the first to offer a SINCERE hand of friendship?

For Israel, it is called "survival".

As well, Israel is not a tyranny. It is a democracy.

Israel's opponents, on the other hand.......

And Barak offered compromise and a Palestinian State. Arafat spit in his face.

It is selective democracy. Non-Jew = sorry about your luck.

What business did Barak have offering a lesser deal than that which was offered in the original deal? Personally, I'd still like to have seen Israel on Cyprus.

Arabs in Israel vote........
Arabs in Israel are second-class citizens. Arabs in Israel get harassed at check points. Arabs in Israel get their homes snatched if unattended (abandoned) Arabs in Israel are accused for all that is wrong in Israel. Arabs in Israel get shot. Arabs in Israel are called Palestinians. They vote? And well they should!

OK I'll take up that challenge. Since it happens pretty much every day, and you seem to think it doesn't happen very often, then either you have a very high standard of what constitutes "often", or you're very wrong about the news adequately informing everyone.

Lets start with the past week:

The man killed Thursday morning by a Palestinian mortar shell attack has been identified as 51-year-old Amnon Rosenberg of Kibbutz Nirim. Rosenberg, a member of the kibbutz since 1982, is survived by a wife, Tali, and three children – Dor, Eldar and Yarden.

The rocket hit the Gaza side of the crossing, wounding a Palestinian worker there, Palestinian doctors said.
Government spokesman David Baker said Wednesday's attack showed terrorist groups' "total disregard for the well-being of the Palestinian people."

A foreign worker from Thailand sustained moderate injuries to his hand Saturday when a Qassam rocket fired from northern Gaza struck a chicken coop in a moshav located within the Eshkol Regional Council's limits. Another man was lightly injured in the attack.

Rockets, mortar shell fired from Strip riddle Gaza vicinity communities as local synagogue suffers near miss. Islamic Jihad claims responsibility

A Kassam rocket fired from Gaza hit a house in the Sha'ar Hanegev region Thursday afternoon. The residents were not at home at the time of impact, and although the rocket failed to explode, an exterior wall was damaged.

Two mortar shells fired from Gaza landed in the Ashkelon Beach region on Friday morning.
One of the shells made a hole in a road while the other landed near a group of greenhouses, causing no damage.

I stand corrected. I guess things have picked up recently.

I condemn random attacks on innocent civilians. The people who launch these rockets against civilian targets are war criminals, regardless of their motivation. I have no trouble saying that and it doesn't contradict my posts.

More Israel...

They are going to do what they want to do. They do not care about world opinion or warnings from the U.S. or any other country. By themselves they could decimate any threat to themselves, because of their superior intelligence gathering, their willingness to do what they see as necessary and not give a second thought to any consequences.
I am surprized that this subject just will not go away.
How many times do you beat a dead horse?
Let it go.

Interesting--Israel is going to attack Iran. Immediately I posted that Israel needed its American biped animals to do the job. And now the retraction . Israel the mighty, attacks victims that are unable to defend themselves. Iran unlike Syria has the ability to to defend itself so Jews around the world and wannabees like Colpy urge the Goyim to waste their blood for murderous Israel. Back to the whining wall---

A wider war is coming. Its only a matter of time before the US and Israel attack Iran. It will happen before Bush leaves office. They will claim its about Iran's (non-existant)nuclear weapon program. In fact what it will really be about is Iran's conventional weapon program. Iran is a major producer of man portable munitions which end up in the hands of Hezbollah and Hamas. The quality of RPGs, MANPADS, IEDs has now reached the point where expensive weapon systems like armoured vehicles (tanks) and low flying attack aircraft (helicopters/planes) can be defeated by well trained and armed infantry units.

The adversaries of the US and Israel are trying to collapse unpopular, brutal pro-west military dictatorships in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Pakistan. These countries will switch sides and begin to support Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon just like Iran and Syria.

The oppression and injustice suffered by Palestinians is being used to rally public opinion against Israel and the US and their brutal dictatorships in Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Sooner or later, Israel and the US will start to loose the war and western nations like Canada will be called upon to help.

To make an informed decision, Canadians must be aware of what we are being asked to support. Right now most Canadians support Israel without realizing that means we support the continued injustice and oppression suffered by Palestinians. This string discusses facts which should be factored into any decisions Canadians make about Israel.

In my opinion, Canada should not pick sides in this conflict, but we should allow some civilian refugees from all sides of the conflict to immigrate to Canada. I would hate to see Canada condemn boatloads of refugees to death like we did in this case:

Canadian clergy apologize to 'Voyage of the Damned' survivors
CBC News

Herbert Karliner remembers how the mood aboard the SS St. Louis changed when port officials in Cuba turned away the 937 people on board.

They had visas to get into the Caribbean country, but that meant little for a shipload of Jews trying to escape Nazi Germany, leaving Hamburg in May 1939.

"We knew what would happen if we returned to Germany," Karliner said.

And after being turned away at the United States and Canada, the St. Louis did sail back to its country of origin, and to most of its passengers' demise....

Okay.

First of all, I don't accept the entirety of your prediction.....but, I will, for the sake of argument, treat it as completely feasible.

Iran DOES have a nuclear program that seeks to enrich uranium...........that is fact. They claim it is only for peaceful purposes. One has to ask, why does one of the premier producers of oil in the world need to set up an expensive nuclear power generating facility? Add to that the fact that Iran's Mullahs have openly stated the need for a Muslim atomic bomb, that it WOULD be used against Israel, and that in the case of a Israeli-Islam nuclear war, the Muslim world would survive, but Israel would be wiped off the map. I would point out that the entire population of the West Bank and Gaza would be martyred by their "friends" in Islam.........no surprize there.

I hope that Israel takes military action against Iran, the sooner the better.

BTW, Hezbollah, at least, wants to murder ALL Jews. Funny you should use the SS St. Louis as an example.........

I regret our alliances with Saudi Arabia especially, and to a lesser degree with both Egypt and Pakistan..........but the Sauds have the oil, we replaced the Russians as Egypt's friend, which allowed peace to flourish between them and Israel...........as for Pakistan, we'll see.

I do not for a moment regret our alliance and friendship with Israel. Here is a shock for you.........Israeli ARABS are better off than most Arabs in surrounding nations.

This pisses me off. You blather on about Israeli mistreatment of Palestinian "refugees" while completely ignoring the treatment of innocents by Iran, by Syria, by Hezbollah, by Hamas..........so much worse. So much worse. You forget "Palestine" is territories and people completely abandoned by their nations....Jordan and Egypt. You forget Israel is attacked repeatedly EVERY SINGLE DAY by the Palestinians. EVERY DAY!

You also forget Israel is a constitutional democracy....our brother. An Island of sanity in a sea of madness.

Yes, we should support her.

If we do not, there will be more ships like the SS St. Louis.

Seems to me the logic was as sound about Sudetenland, Rhineland and Austria. Never again, eh? Master race or Chosen ones?... Warsaw or Gaza? Jackboots are jackboots whether the wearer's circumsized or not. Palestinian or partisan.... Explain the difference without the propaganda.

The thing about the Sudetenland, Rhineland and Austria was that they SHOULD have been part of Germany. They shouldn't have been taken away.

They people in those areas were German, they wanted to be part of a German state.

It was no different then East and West Germany re-integrating. This is why re-construction efforts in wars these days focus on rebuilding.

In other cases population shifts were carried out, thus cementing a change. This is in effect what happened in Kosovo, in Northern Ireland, Turkey and Greece, India and Pakistan, North and South America, and Australasia.

In those second set of changes, time has gone by and new populations live in those regions whom you cant simply displace for the sins of the fathers.

What are you talking about?

The Israelis would hand the West Bank back to Jordan in a millisecond. Good riddance.

You do know that the West Bank was originally part of Jordan, and that nation has refused to negotiate its return?

You see, King Hussein has already had a little experience of refugee politics....the PLO and Fatah to be exact, whom he forcibly removed from the nation in the early 70s. They went to the rich, peaceful, beautiful nation of Lebanon.........take a look at THAT spot!

Likewise the Gaza Strip and Egypt...........Egypt doesn't WANT it back, as it is run by Islamist loonies, and Egypt has enough of those.

Both nations would much rather let Israel deal with them.....

Somehow I doubt Israel would ever give up the West Bank

Notice how even the Gaza Strip is getting even smaller. The Gaza Strip is the land Israel is trying to "give" to the Palestinians.....As if it was ever theirs to give.

No. Don't bother repeating yourself. I don't much like the way Israel has handled the indigenous people who's land they were given, and who's land they continue to steal. Palestine has been mightily screwed by Israel with the help and encouragement of the U.S. If I am wrong, show me where I'm wrong and I will apologise.
