Yes hunting and how it's practiced in North america has been shown over all, to improve bird populations as has been posted already, while electric cars will still kill 60 million birds a year, and Bar knows that, he saw the post, but he refuses to acknowledge the facts, and then posts silly stuff like this.

I've heard that steel shot from hunting and fishing kills wildlife as well. Actually, probably just about any projectile, regardless of composition, with a muzzle velocity of 1200fps is pretty effective within range.

Facts?? The first line in the article contradicts it's own title.

This is a definite departure from stating such an incontrovertible title as "lead shot kills wildlife". Maybe the writer of the article could be a bit more accurate when crafting the title, rather than resorting to absolutes for effect.

I can see the problem with consumption of wounded or dead prey. But if you have some prairie chicken rooting around in waist-high prairie grass and dirt looking for a 1/8" diam. piece of lead shot to hungrily gobble up, I'm sorry, that bird gets what's coming. And how many of those tasty lead morsels does it have to ingest to become a problem?
you are being lied to. it is virtually impossible for a round to fall flat in a fire then hit someone in a tent. the trajectory is too flat and low to the ground and there is nothing flat about a fire pit.
furthermore, the fire dept video demonstrates that entire boxes can be detonated and not one would do what you are claiming.

When you throw a cartridge in a fire, the cartridge explodes and projectile AND DEBRIS FROM THE CASING, (inaccurately called "shrapnel") goes flying in all directions. A cartridge fired in the breech of a weapon is tightly constrained and does not fly apart but it's just like a brass firecracker out in the open.
