And you are an idiot.

Well, I disagree, but OK....let's play your game.
Look at the list of most developed countries:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Developed_country
Murder rates per 100,000
United States: 3.8
Argentina: 5.5
Latvia: 4.7
Cuba: 4.2
Lithuania: 6.7
Estonia: 5.0
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate
Now.....why do you think only developed countries should count? Is it because poverty, hopelessness, and ghettoes are the root cause of murder?
Then why are we talking guns?
I'd say a chronic arguer. If you agreed with him he'd fine another bone of contention to get off on.

Yeah, well, the poor, hapless idiot cannot figure out that the difference between most countries and their guns are the attitudes their people have about guns. Canadians do not think like Americans who do not think like the Swiss who do not think like the Japanese who do not think like the Serbs and so on. That alone makes comparisons inane.

The thing that gets me is that people think all Americans think the same as if your nationality is your definition. It is not. Americans do not necessarily think like Americans and as I've witnessed in here it is the same in Canada.

For example, I for one would like to gather up all the guns, turn them into metal dill doughs and shove them up the NRA's azzes.

I did say Developed - First World Countries...

Russia has a 9.0 murder rate.. but all these are in countries with their economies in shambles, infested with corruption and poverty.. which is not really comparable.

The question remains why the U.S. has murder rate 5.5X that of Germany.. two of the richest nations in the world.

entertainment maybe. We like to romanticize slaughter in the movies, TV books etc. Maybe one reason.

Not paying attention, are you.

I used the list given by the UN Human Development Index of countries of "very high human development"

The UN HDI is a statistical measure that gauges a country's level of human development.

The latest index was released on 24 July 2014 and covers the period up to 2013. The following are the 49 countries in the top quartile - having an HDI above 0.8, and classified as possessing a "Very high human development".

From the wikipedia article cited.

it's a terrible comparison, but that's colpy for you. the fact is, among first world countries, usa is most appalling in violence, incarceration, poverty, and healthcare areas.

I agree. And even then, farmers and ranchers tend to think differently about guns than city people, collectors differently than hunters, etc.

For example, I for one would like to gather up all the guns, turn them into metal dill doughs and shove them up the NRA's azzes.
lol Well, they are useful tools for hubby and I.
I will go a bit further and suggest that rockets and grenades and the like should be stuffed up the arses of any and all politicians and radical who wants to start wars and battles and the like.

You are either lying or out of your tiny, little mind. The USA is not even close to being the most violent country. It did not make the top 25 even. http://list25.com/25-most-dangerous-countries-according-to-global-peace-index/

It does not have the most people living in poverty: Population below poverty line - Country Comparison

damn, you are funny.

i said first world and you're giving me rankings of african countries exploited by colonization and imperialism.
Not all those countries in the 25 most violent are African. Do some research.

You are so dismally blinded by your hatred and delusion you cannot tell fact from fantasy. That is pitifully sad.

Still proving you are an idiot. LOL

The list of developed countries I used in the UN Highly Developed Country Index.

Try again..

i said first world and you're giving me rankings of african countries exploited by colonization and imperialism.

The top seven murder rate countries are in South or Central America.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate

The United States is number 121 out of 218.
