Gun Control is Completely Useless.

Actually if you subscribed to a local station in the US (and this easy) and listen for yourself, I do not think you will call it anecdotal. Now, I suspect that if you did this for several stations, you would be way over the daily reported national gun violence on any day you choose to compare to.
So, now your screeching "We're not talking about the U.S. We're talking about Canada!" doesn't apply?

I do not screech, never have. It is odd how so many here who choose to misunderstand whatever I point out or assert, ignore the points made and resort to criticizing the manner of presentation. Silly really.

James, you have no concept of how many shootings on a daily basis, I have listened to on the local station in Florida. As I write this I am watching the gun shootings f in Colorado at an abortion clinic It is apparently a favorite target for such attacks. This is on my local Canadian station!!

However, I will point out once more, I DO not want to change our society from a reasonably peaceful one to where we must be on the look out for those who under relaxed Canadian gun laws, have easy access to deadly weapons. I do not want to fear every trip to the grocery store, or concert. Our laws are fair, and because of this some madmen/women (altho these are very rare. I simply do not our whole way of life to be subjected to relaxed gun laws!!

Make no mistake, it will if gun manufacturers and the paranoid gun lovers have their way it will change greatly and not for the better. I begin to believe the human race is devolving not evolving , judging from the beliefs of the violent outlook of some here.

I sure do. It is part of a 30 year trend of ever decreasing crime stats.

Canada has not always had the gun laws that it does now. Back before the gun laws happened, were you in fear of every trip to the grocery store, or concert? If so, you have my pity.

When you refuse to be reasonable with your comments on this forum, it is you that comes across as paranoid. For example, please tell me more about how you believe the human race is devolving.

Funny how some say that about BLM as well.

But you know me ~ I'm all for a fully armed citizenry.

Yes James, it may be decreasing but the more recent numbers still say; approx. 16,000 homicides per year in the US, about half of them with a firearm.
That works out to an average of 21 homicides by firearm per day.

Thankfully Canada IS different in that regard with an average of a bit over 500 homicides per year in total. Your chances of being a victim of a violent crime in Canada are ridiculously small. Your chances of being murdered are even less. And your chances that someone will shoot you, well let's just say it's slightly greater than friendly aliens picking you up and giving you a tour of the galaxy.

Obama's report accepts that DGUs are better than 500,000 per year. Furthermore, it no longer disputes other estimates that place the DGUs as high as 3,000,000 per year.

Thankfully, Canada's stats have always been better than the US, because there is no evidence in the last 30 years of trending to show that our gun laws have made a difference. You might want to read this three times, so you don't miss the point that BByrd has been missing for a long time.

You cannot compare states and provinces of your choice for one thing. Stats are usually rigged and you are taking internet figures. There are more gun murders per capita in the USA than in Canada and sadly, most are done by kids who innocently get ahold of a carelessly stored gun. Gun controls do work.

Bull****. Look at the links. Not from anti-gun control people.

Let me help.

StatsCan

The Brady site, a rabid anti-gun site.

And a Death Penalty Abolitionist site.

Liars all.....(sarcasm)

And the idea that "most are done by kids who innocently get ahold of a carelessly stored gun" is absolute crap.

Intentional murder rate .. per 100,000 per year in developed countries.

Germany.. .7
France 1.0
Britain .8
Canada 1.4

USA 3.8

The only recognizable difference between these countries is the 2nd Amendment and the NRA.

wow america is a violent dump. capitalism is a failure.

And you are an idiot.

Well, I disagree, but OK....let's play your game.
Look at the list of most developed countries:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Developed_country
Murder rates per 100,000
United States: 3.8
Argentina: 5.5
Latvia: 4.7
Cuba: 4.2
Lithuania: 6.7
Estonia: 5.0
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate
Now.....why do you think only developed countries should count? Is it because poverty, hopelessness, and ghettoes are the root cause of murder?
Then why are we talking guns?
