Go to google news and type in Iraq, read what is happening as of late and tell me again they are better off.

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait made out the best.

I could see where Kuwait particularly would be gloating as Iraq got the sh*t thumped out of them, bet they were pissing themselves the day Saddam was found cowering in the bunker.

Of course they would be. They got away with slant drilling and managed to have someone else shyte kick their enemy. Finding someone else to intimidate your rival isn't that hard when you have a country like the states always sniffing around looking for a new excuse to kill some more babies. Seems they got hooked on that in Nam.

And Kuwait got to keep on drilling under the border into Iraq without any repercussions for stealing oil from Iraq.

Would you be pleased at Harper if he did nothing if the US were drilling under our border and stealing our oil? You knew that is why Saddam invaded Kuwait years ago didn't you?

BTW, what is the history of Kuwait?

*sigh* I do believe that YOU believe there is nothing to research. As you have stated: you know it to be false.

And I accept that you believe that without any hesitation at all.

Still can't find it huh? Still can't find anything on how the US put Hussein came to power? Gee I wonder why Sal?

Don't blame him, Sal; he's just following orders.

Perhaps you can help Sal then Spade. Can you tell us how the US installed Hussein into power? He seems to be having trouble backing up his mouth.

He also knows there is no economic meltdown in the US.

I do? Where did I say that? Our economy is a mess.

Do you also want to add more stupid to this?

I told you how to find the information you need and am answering you this last time only out of courtesy.

I have zero interest in teaching you a history lesson on the Middle East. It is a long and complex history with many nuances which began long before you were born and indoctrinated into your culture of might is right. You have further more categorically stated you are uninterested because you already know the truth.

For what I can see so far, finding the truth of a situation (any situation) does not appear to interest you. But I actually don't have a problem with that.

Also, He ( meaning me) is a she.

Though senior officials of the Reagan administration publicly condemned Iraq's employment of mustard gas, sarin, VX and other poisonous agents, the American military officers said President Reagan, Vice President George Bush and senior national security aides never withdrew their support for the highly classified program in which more than 60 officers of the Defense Intelligence Agency were secretly providing detailed information on Iranian deployments, tactical planning for battles, plans for airstrikes and bomb-damage assessments for Iraq.

Iraq shared its battle plans with the Americans, without admitting the use of chemical weapons, the military officers said. But Iraq's use of chemical weapons, already established at that point, became more evident in the war's final phase.

OFFICERS SAY U.S. AIDED IRAQ IN WAR DESPITE USE OF GAS - New York Times

That is true, since Hussein was on a CIA assassination squad, was paid by the CIA and had close ties with the US throughout his rise to power.

U.S. Says It Monitored Iraqi Messages on Gas
By ROBERT PEAR, Special to the New York Times
Published: September 15, 1988

...Secretary of State George P. Shultz said Tuesday that he was ''quite confident'' that Iraq had used chemical weapons in its efforts to put down a rebellion by the Kurds. But the State Department is opposing Congressional efforts to impose stringent economic sanctions on Iraq. Charles E. Redman, the State Department spokesman, said today that the sweeping sanctions bill passed by the Senate on Friday was ''premature.''

For years and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

They tried to take him out for many years they just could not get at him. The further he descended into chaotic madness and paranoia the greater his stealth and defense became. See some of the body doubles he had...holy crap.

From some of the interviews with his wives, he was waaay gone.

One of my girlfriends who fled from the middle east quite a while back, says the CIA could learn a thing or two about the use of listening devices and cameras etc. She knew how to search a room for daddy from the time she could walk. It boggles my mind. It's like watching TV except that it's real. lol....Her wealth boggles my mind.

Saddam's Hidden History:
Saddam's Hidden History by Joel Bleifuss

If the US had anything to do with Hussein gaining power, I can't find it.

Thank you EAO. Reason being is that the US had nothing to do with it.

Oh it seems you want to change your tune now. You simply can't admit you really didn't know what you were talking about and just said the US put Saddam in power because it sounded cool.

Yes. And who put him into power in the first place to do exactly what he was doing. Until he got a bit uppity for them.
.

FAIL.

I hope you learned your lesson

Thanks! I did learn my lesson, ( I hope) I took the bait and replied to you against my better judgement... lol... to quote the bible...pearls before swine.

But I did get the type of response I had imagined so thanks for proving me right once again. Everyone has something to teach us if we are open to it. What's that quote by Catherin Aird; if you can't be a good example you will just have to be a horrible warning.

There ya go... ;-) and thanks for the warning.

Yep, I did hear that was the start of the war back in '91. Not sure if it justified a war!
