Take the country back from the politicians? Well that's never happened, and it's not likely to.

The only thing that might realistically give us a chance at it, I think, is proportional representation.

I wish he hadn't given in to the right wing by giving the speaking fee back. They are just throwing spaghetti at the wall trying to find something to stick. He didn't do anything wrong to start with, so he shouldn't return the fee.

He didn't say he was going to give it back.
If you listen to what he said, he only said he was going to work with the charity to make it right. This does not mean he is going to give it back, either part or all!!

He is using typical Liberal verbal diarrhea, it's meant to confuse the bublic into letting them believe what they want to believe what he said.

Again, he did not say he would give it back uncondionally!! Listen to what he says, not the Liberal media interruptation of what he said.!! Got it!!

Well you can tell the difference because your not very bright. To help you understand a bit clearer for you, it means your stupid.
It's probably not your fault, you were probably born stupid..

But it's only a scum bag like you that would go around sniffing other people's diarrhea!!

that should read "cannot tell the difference"

Well he isn't alone in doing this, what is the issue?

Pamela Walllin and Mike Duffy got paid for speeches. I don't think it's that uncommon. If someone told me--"Hey Zip, why don't you just go blather on for an hour or two and we'll give you 20 large" I'd be all over that.

Well you can tell the difference because your not very bright. To help you understand a bit clearer for you, it means your stupid.

You ain't exactly no intellectual giant yourself there, buddy.

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is offering to compensate charities that paid him to participate in fundraising events, saying "political leadership is about raising the bar on openness and transparency."
In this context what does compensate mean to you?

#Juan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think we've recently seen what polls are worth in both B.C. and Alberta! Do you think they are any more reliable in Ottawa? Do you really think Justin is capable of running a country?

Hey if a two faced crooked fukk like el Harpo can run one (into the ground), perhaps Justine could do better.

We shall see, no?

Man, are you ever stupid!!

I told you in the above Post not to read what the Liberal media said what numb nuts said.
My Post clearly stated that you have to listen to what numb nuts actually says!!

And he NEVER used the word COMPENSATE, in what he says!!!

Got the picture now stupid!!!

I can certainly understand the "red" you received. No one (with an exception or two) should have to put up with that crap...................from you or anyone else!

Boomer, I agree, it's not right for politicians to collect those kinds of fees from public institutions and npo's.

But, that being said, is it right for ANYONE to collect those fees, from public institutions and npo's?

I get the ire at Trudeau, but people seem to be ignoring the bigger issue.... who are the heads of these institutions, and why do they feel it's okay to pay these sorts of fees out? Whose pockets are regularly being lined by this kind of graft at the public's expense?

Every speaking engagement was approved by the ethics committee. All fees were agreed apon. Did we know that Harper and many others also give speeches for money? If it can be called graft when Trudeau does it, it must also be called graft when Harper gives a speech for money.

The whole tihing looks fishy to me. The letter from this charity was released by the PMO, not the charity. A board member for that charity is a Conservatvie appointee. The charity is part of a larger charitable organziation that receives millions in federal funding. That chairty spends more on "management and adminsitration" than it does on programs.

The only issue for me is if Trudeau was making money on the lecture circuit when he was supposed to be sitting in the House. That's double-dipping.

Public institutions, you mean for profit Corporations?? Why not??

But your shouldn't milk schools or charities.. you donate your time to that sector.

No, a school is a public institution, as is a hospital, etc.

If taking money from them is wrong, why the focus on making one man give it back, why are we not trying to stop the practice altogether?

Using the Ethics Commissioner as a seal of approval is of no value. The Ethical rules they are required to follow are as shallow as a dry creek bed.

Really, so teachers, support staff, administrators, etc should be donating their time and not getting paid.......I see.
