Trudeau wasn't in charge of marketing for the event.
They knew who they were getting. He came and delivered.

The fact that their incredibly poor planning, budgeting and estimating resulted in a loss, is their fault.
Rather than accepting the blame graciously, the charity's board, has decided instead to basically blackmail Trudeau into returning the money.

This charity will never be able to attract a guest speaker again, if there is a salary involved, if they stoop to these tactics.
If they feel they should only have to pay if they make a profit, perhaps the next time they should offer a percentage of the gate instead of a flat fee.

Quite shameful.

No, the guys a phony!! What they hired they soon found out they had a pig in a poke.

This guy is all show and no go!! Nobody wants to go and listen to a loser.
That's the only mistake this charity made, they hired a loser that nobody wants to listen to because he has nothing to say and has no substance.
Other charities will now realize that getting this loser results in losses in revenue.

Thats exactly what the Liberal party will find out after the next election.!!
Good bye Libs!!

Yeah, I think there's a good chance young Trudeau will prove to be just "a flash in the pan"!

And yet he keeps climbing in the polls. If an election were held today, Justin Trudeau would be prime minister.

#Juan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think we've recently seen what polls are worth in both B.C. and Alberta! Do you think they are any more reliable in Ottawa? Do you really think Justin is capable of running a country?

Actually he didn't do anything wrong, that is not just his opinion the ethics commissioner
has cleared him from doing anything wrong. That is the job of the ethics commissioner.
I heard tonight he has decided to give back much of the money as a gesture but it has
nothing to do with right or wrong. I am not a Liberal and I don't really care about whether
or not he ends up on the short end of the stick. The problem is, if he is falsely judged then
all the howling about what has happened to people like Ford or Harper is just crocodile
tears. Justice must apply to everyone.

Do you really think Harpo is running the country? He isn't. Why do you think he is so secretive? Because he isn't doing anything but protecting those who do run the country.

That's beside the point, the thread is about young Trudeau, but yeah, I'll agree Harper has probably outlived his usefulness!-:)

Nothing will change no matter who gets in next time, never has, never will. Time for people to wake up to the illusion they have been living in and face reality. If we really want a representative government that is responsible to the people, we are going to have to take this country back from those who are running the show.

I think you're right. We have to prevent politicians from running the country!

You don't get it. Politicinas don't run the country. Bureaucrats have more power and run the day to day business of the country, but not even they are in charge. They are the second in command, the politicians are only there to give you the illusion of government, of democracy. There is no democracy and you do not have a choice in who runs the country. The parties are owned, like professional wrestlers, they put on a show to entertain you. Nothing more.

At one time a majority of Canadians thought Diefenbaker was capable of running the country. We know how wrong that was. Trudeau is at least as capable as Diefenbaker.

How can the people he hires be any better or worse than those Harper hired? Trudeau will be another caretaker of the Action Plan PM just like Harper.

Ummmmmmmmmm, we'll see..............maybe! The country is a little more complicated to run now!

At risk of becoming monotonous I will say again they are "all tarred with the same brush". Egotistical and unethical.

Yup and it's never them who does the real work. The Spastics think they are gods that run the show all by their lonesome from Mt Olympus.

I worked on a couple of federal elections and I have to say that I was impressed with the candidates from most parties. Party leaders came off a bit full of themselves but the rank and file seemed sincere. I don't think we should be that cynical just yet.

Well, perhaps it's a good sign that someone thinks that way. -:)

I wish he hadn't given in to the right wing by giving the speaking fee back. They are just throwing spaghetti at the wall trying to find something to stick. He didn't do anything wrong to start with, so he shouldn't return the fee.
