Confused Americans Moving to Canada

Oh I doubt they will be coming in crowds, DG. In fact, I doubt many will come at all especially if they come to their senses and realize that Canada is the Democratic far left's vision of Utopia..............or very close to it. ;-)
They better come soon if they're coming at all. They may find it very hard to get here in the new year especially with their wealth intact.

Why not? There are many American companies operating in Canada right now........how would these guys be any different.........on as strictly business level.........all politics aside. If they have money to invest in Canada and they meet our guidelines etc.....I'm quite sure they would be welcomed in Canada.

Actually I don't think he did fail. Socialized medicine means that all citizens have access to some sort of government regulated health care. Canada's health care system has that sort of guarantee, which qualifies it as a form of socialized medicine. To my knowledge all of the nations Tay listed offer that same guarantee, which means they are socialisitc as well whether the services are provided by a private or public entity. And now that the US has "Obamacare" it can be added to the list as well.

You obviously haven't been to Canada lately. many aspects of the Health care system are privitazed such as labs and physical re-hab centers etc..

Americans spend twice as much as residents of other developed countries on healthcare, but get lower quality, less efficiency and have the least equitable system.
Every other system covers all its citizens, the report noted and said the U.S. system, which leaves 46 million Americans or 15 percent of the population without health insurance, is the most unfair.
In 2007, health spending was $7,290 per person in the United States, more than double that of any other country in the survey.
Australians spent $3,357, Canadians $3,895, Germans $3,588, the Netherlands $3,837 and Britons spent $2,992 per capita on health in 2007. New Zealand spent the least at $2,454.
This is a big rise from the Fund's last similar survey, in 2007, which found Americans spent $6,697 per capita on healthcare in 2005, or 16 percent of gross domestic product.
"We rank last on safety and do poorly on several dimensions of quality," Schoen told reporters. "We do particularly poorly on going without care because of cost. And we also do surprisingly poorly on access to primary care and after-hours care."
Britain, whose nationalized healthcare system was widely derided by opponents of U.S. healthcare reform, ranks first in quality while the Netherlands ranked first overall on all scores, the Commonwealth team found.

US is still different in a number of ways, namely, you will still have the opportunity to have ability to receive services delivered by alternative private providers. In my opinion, Obamacare doesn't provide universal healthcare like Canada - it only demands that everyone has insurance that will provide access to services; much of which is presently private providers
Don't confuse Canada's system; that delists certain procedures from coverage (and thereby opening the door for private providers) annually in order to make the budgets fit with full access to private services.

Here's a hint for you Einstein - albeit, there are some ongoing legal challenges in Canada on the issue, Canada's system has a single payer for procedures that are covered by the individual provinces as per the actual procedures that are 'listed' in the coverage.
Fact is, I can travel to any of those other nations as a Canadian and pay to have bypass surgery... Foreigners can not travel to Canada
for the same.
Look into it junior and you'll figure it out
