When are we going to be killing each other over half a rotten potato? No time soon?

I'm wondering, do you have potatoes and if so how many, if you don't mind me asking, also could you supply me with your coordinates in case I should like to take advantage of your gracious invition to visit, which I have not considered until this latest economic slide this past Friday Monday and tuesday.
I may need lunch upon arrival.

What you assuming is a recession is not one according to some of the pundits. Your assertion about Canada being the only country in the G7 to experience a downturn due to oil is a moot point. The European members don't have oil. Keep your head up and your eyes peeled for shards of sky.

The agreed definition about a technical recession is two terms of negative growth.

Harper has already admitted same.

Does that mean he has already spent the money on a war you know where? I thought the crooks lived over there.

We are already in recession, there aint any good news, hide your potatoes, guard your chickens, learn how to hunt and eat bugs. Do it now before the best bugs are gone in the first frost.

My retirement investments consist of canned food and shotguns.

Maybe you've been listening to Flossie too much!

The official definitions I heard many years ago go like this

Depression = what you are in when you've lost your job.
Recession = What you are in when your neighbour has lost his job.

Pierre with hair says that he is not ready to watch the country sink into a recession. That can be taken 2 ways.

Possibly the least susceptible, solely because we are a multi resource country................count them.
1. Oil
2.Coal
3. Potash
4. Diamonds
5. Gold, silver, lead, zinc, moly, aluminum, nickel
6. Lumber
7. Wheat
8. canola
9. sugar beets
10. Salmon, herring, tuna, haddock
11. manufacturing
12. movie industry

There's probably at least another dozen or more I haven't thought of.

commodities need buyers JLM buyers need manufacturing to supply retailers there's a drastic slowdown in commodities trading because there is inventory build up and slow retail movement, liquidity problems, deflationary eer tendencies. It is good to have that stuff arround though, now if we just had some manufacturing base left we could build shovels to dig our way out of the big hole.

He means he'll be leaving for warmer places after he has lost the election and the country slides into anarchy.

It went up to $45 per barrel.

We need to sell at a minimum of $100 per barrel to make a profit in the oilsands.

Trying that BS again? $30 is the breaking point and oil sands is half of our oil which has a breaking point of $15.

Too bad Layton died. He got the reclamation plan he wanted which was the only thing the NDP wanted before expansions.
