You'd think so, wouldn't you?

Then again, if they solve the problem, then that issue is off the protest-table. It almost makes you wonder if their is an ulterior motive by the higher-ups in the various eco-groups.

Say, didn't you post a link to the various contributors to the eco-lobbies some time ago? If I recall correctly, there seemed to be a real preponderance of Foundations and Trusts that had big financial interests in a variety of commodity-based sectors.

Makes ya wonder just a bit, eh?

Which list? There are a couple.

I have an idea. Lets start our own foundation, buy oodles of land then profit from a carbon credit scheme as that land sits useless and blocked from public access.

I like it!

We can call it the Flossy Foundation, maybe an illustration of a cute lamb happily grazing in a field for the letterhead... Little will the public know that the lamb is slated to be fleeced over and over again

In many cases, the protestors do not question the underlying realities about the issues, they simply are given the 'correct thoughts' from whatever lobby they represent... And, much like a rabid dog, they adopt the most narrow of focuses and and march into a realm of idiocy

They call that spot the Black Hole. After the 'save the planet concert' that Midnight Oil put on, the ecotards turned that part of Calyquot into a moonscape.

What?... And actually contribute to a solution?

Not a chance in hell on that account

There is one common trait I notice about protestors (besides being lazy and wanting someone else to support them) they always want to STOP something, never improve anything or work toward mutual benefits, they don't care about making something safe, just f**k it up so no one else benefits either. Dog in a manger mentality!

Yep. It might surprise you, but I'm a tree hugger. I just know I live in the real world.

Most loggers are too. WE replant what we harvest. The city greenies OTH burn the and and cover it with wood framed houses and lots of asphalt then complain about logging.

So why isn't the "environmental movement" investing in R&D to offer up and sell solutions?

Same reason unions are not buying up closed manufacturing facilities and operating them. Far too much work. It is much easier to sit back and criticize than to work and take a risk.

Yep, all environmentalists are lazy and don't offer solutions.........
just like all business people are greedy and pollute.

I like environmentalists, it's the noisy, disruptive, arrogant, know it all, in your face environmentalists that I can't stand.

lol That sure makes sense.

About as much sense as claiming that because we've had Liberal PMs who've abused the system for their own interests it's now the turn of the Conservatives.

We do have a choice and if we keep electing the same scam artist then we really only have ourselves to blame when things go downhill politically.

It can seem to be that way. Depends upon who is elected into each voting area.

1 day per year? That doesn't happen often.
Many people voting someone in or out is a bit more than pretending.

It would actually be nice, the Alberta Party candidate that came around during the provincial election here would have had a yearly review by her constiuents(she claimed) if elected. I did mean every election year.
