Re: New Mainstreet poll shows a huge Conservative lead

I expect Harper to be defeated in election. A number of issues will play.. but the TPP is going to be one.. since it so thoroughly screws farmers (a major base of Conservative support) and working people in the country. Like Alberta, i see an electorate in deep disaffection... bitter about being lied and disenfranchised for years.

The Conservatives think that Justin is the only alterative Canada will consider (the NDP are barely mentioned in their ads). But the Liberals are a party without an identity or a political philosophy.. forever trying to place themselves above 'ideologies' and pandering to polls. I think the condition of the country is so serious.. in terms of being on the brink of economic and cultural collapse... that they are going to get squeezed out.

I'm not so sure we will not see a sea change.. likely a minority NDP government. God help us.. but just about anything is better than that incompetent quisling and sellout Harper. He has given up completely on Canada.. the lying little lecher.

If the polls are as accurate as Elections Canada data, I wouldn't be placing many bets. Funny thing is, among several candidate calls I've taken, 3 have been from the Conservative guy in the riding in which I don't reside.

Justine and Mule-hair? Harpy we know. What's that adage? erm Better the devil we know ....
And politicians ARE devils.
I just don't want the jackass to feel like he can go tromping around in the flower patch wearing snowshoes. I could be content with a minority gov't.

Re: New Mainstreet poll shows a huge Conservative lead

And I am equally worried about said effects of Justine and Mulcair.

"Convinced" might be a better word relating to those two goofs!

I'm starting to wonder if putting Harper back in would be worth it for the sheer entertainment value of watching the implosion of posters like Flossy, damngrumpy (who is voting NDP don't ya know), Cliffy and a few others on here.

Or better yet being a fly on the wall a year or so from now watching the afore mentioned's reaction to the hopeless f**k up that's evolved under one of the other goofs. :) :)

I don't support any party. What I have seen on these forums and in real life is that, by and large, the conservative types are self centered, selfish, mean spirited, with ugly hearts, so, I present this image that I took of a beautiful and innocent fawn in hopes to soften you cold, hard hearts:

Liberals break election laws by setting up campaign table outside voting station?

This photo is making its rounds on social media apparently depicts the University of Ottawa Young Liberals handing out campaign literature outside an Elections Canada voting station:

If true this would of course break the Elections Act and Elections Canada needs to investigate, immediately.

Scared Yet? How Fear Hijacked Campaign 2015

Harper lobbed three 'dead cats' to make us forget the Duffy trial. It's working.

What do you do when you're six weeks from the biggest election of your life, your party is mired in scandal and shedding candidates almost daily, while you're trailing behind a bearded socialist and the son of the man you hate most in Canadian political history?
If you're Stephen Harper, you clean house, hire the most-successful Conservative strategist in the world, and pledge to ban the niqab, restrict refugee claims and set up a tipline for Canadians to report "barbaric cultural practices."
And now, with two weeks until election day, you're back in striking distance of another majority government and no one is talking about $90,000 cheques from your office to a sitting senator you appointed.
Lynton Crosby, Stephen Harper's lead campaign strategist is credited with pulling the Conservative campaign out of the weeds. One charming name to describe their path to victory? The "dead cat strategy." Boris Johnson -- a once client of Crosby and current mayor of London, England -- attributed the phrase to an unnamed "great campaigner" and described it thusly:

‘****s Against Harper’ Will Send You Nudes for Voting

The upcoming federal election is shaping up to be a real sweepstakes for a certain kind of voter: free weed is on offer, courtesy of a marijuana dispensary in BC, and now there’s the promise of nude pics, thanks to a group of young Canadians calling themselves “****s Against Harper.”
On Tuesday, the group of young men and women launched a campaign on Instagram offering to send personalized nude pics to anyone who messages them and proves they’ve voted. Although the “VOTES4NUDES” campaign has only been around for a day, the Instagram account already has hundreds of followers and a lot of bare (yet tastefully censored) skin to show for it.

The woman behind the campaign is a 24-year-old artist and university student living in Montreal who goes by the alias “Jessica Simps.” The name, she told me, is a reference to singer, actress, and reality TV star Jessica Simpson herself, and reflects three of the core values of her campaign: being fun, flirty, and getting away with ****.
To find out more about why Simps thinks nudes are the best way to get young Canadians to vote, I called her up and asked her about everything from voter suppression to making the word “****” a positive political tool.

Wow. Just....wow. Truly, elections have become circuses. There's the 3 ring mess mentioned above, Conservative attack ads, NDP attack ads that are blatant rip-offs of Conservative attack ads, and to top it all off, we elect a bunch of clowns.
Clowns, huh. More like infantile little brats. Kindergarten kids act with more decorum when the teacher leaves the room than the childish oafs we elect do when they're In Session.

Niqab debate pushes Conservatives to first place in Quebec

Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservative Party has edged into first place in Quebec, buoyed by the divisive debate over Muslim women wearing niqabs, according to a new public opinion poll.

The latest EKOS Research poll, conducted earlier this week, found the Conservatives in the lead with the support of 28 per cent of respondents compared with 25 per cent for Justin Trudeau’s Liberals and 24 per cent for Tom Mulcair’s New Democrats.

The difference between the three parties is within the poll’s margin of error of 4.9 percentage points for the Quebec level results.
Gilles Duceppe’s Bloc Québécois is trailing at 17 per cent, while Elizabeth May’s Green Party is at 4 per cent.

Dear Justin Trudeau: Canadians aren't 'divided' on the niqab. In fact, seldom has the Canadian public ever been more unified on an issue.

Surprisingly, there is a backlash on this issue and it's actually putting the Liberals in first.

Ekos, Nanos and Forum now show Liberals moving into first.

Harper needs another majority because a minority will get no support from the other parties.

the only 'backlash' is the timely and tactical media party stories on the subject.

'some' people are mad at harper again. star publisher makes a little column about it.

forget it.

it and your bandwagon will all go away soon enough.
