In the last several school massacres how many lives would have been saved if even one teacher had a gun and knew how to use it?
You could very well wind up dead waiting for police assistance.
In the mass shooting in Arizona where Congresswoman Gaby Giffords was shot, a man in the crowd was armed, and says himself that he almost shot an innocent person. The gunmen was tackled by two unarmed men.

So. . . about 121 a year. In a country of 310 million. That's not even a rounding error. That's what you call "statistically insignificant."

Maybe we need to quit wringing our hands over the mass shootings and focus on the other 10,000+ gun homicides each year.
Three quarters of homicides are by gun. That's more than a rounding error.

Or the hundreds of thousands of injuries and deaths caused by vehicle crashes (mainly due to stupidity and inattention to driving while driving). Or the hundreds of thousands of strokes and heart attacks caused by stupid dietary habits. Gun deaths in comparison to those is a small fraction.
You are absolutely right on the diet stuff. Ban all junk food crap along with guns.

Horses n buggies, bikes, feet, etc. are also transportation. Stupidity isn't necessary either, but it happens anyways.
LOL, I think it would be safer to drive than make morning and evening commutes into Donner party expeditions.

What did I miss? Certainly you aren't attributing those words to me are you Gopher? If not why did you cut and paste my forum info under Boomer's post?

Maybe it is just you being a typical moron as usual.

Boomer was responding to this personal attack...

I can understand why a Herring Choker would be offended by a joke about incest and intra-family marriage.

And Tober has said repeatedly that he does not use personal attacks.

The US has been cursed with a couple of Bush governments since that time. If this is such a huge threat to US military personnel why didn't junior fix it?
Don't bother. It's not even true. I was in service 1978-1991. The restrictions on carrying private firearms on base were in place that entire time. Only MPs are allowed to carry firearms on base, except at the firing range.

That's right. I attack the topics and what people say. Saying I am anti-American is not a personal attack. I justify it with specific examples. You could always either deny the examples or explain them away. The fact that you do not leads me to conclude that you agree they happened, you just approve of them. Is this concept above your emotional ability to understand? Do you think you might understand if I type more slowly?

Or in other words except personnel on duty. That is perfectly reasonable on a military base.

No. MPs on duty. And personnel assigned to firing-range exercise that day.

Other personnel on duty are neither required nor permitted to be armed. So spare me your "other words."

Laugh out loud! TB has no way of knowing who might have been on duty and carrying a weapon. Sh/e just doesn't know when to stop talking.
