Boris Johnson, returning from a holiday in Mustique, orders the deployment of HMS Montrose and HMS Defender to the Strait of Hormuz.

He looks likely to be embroiled in a diplomatic spat with the Americans after Britain was left in ths dark about the attack, unlike Israel.

British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace ordered the warships to the Strait of Hormuz to 'take all necessary steps to protect our ships and citizens'.

Around 50 members of the SAS are also heading to the Middle East to help with a potential evacuation of Britons, while defence chiefs are asking Mr Johnson whether to deploy eight RAF Typhoon jets based in Cyprus, a Sentinel spy plane and drones.

Has America started WWIII?

Boris Johnson exclaimed 'F***' upon first learning of Donald Trump's drone strike on the top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, reports say.

The Prime Minister is on holiday in Mustique with girlfriend Carrie Symonds and was informed of the killing over the phone on Friday.

Britain, unlike Israel, was not given prior warning of the attack which has already threatened to destabilise the Middle East and provoke a retaliation to the West.

PETER HITCHENS: The killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani was state murder. How can anyone be so bloody stupid?

Did World War Three begin last Thursday night? I fear it may have done. Forgive my language, but on this occasion I think it justified. How can anyone possibly have been so bloody stupid?

We know from history that assassinations can have limitless effects. And when the President of the United States orders the state murder (for this, alas, is what it was) of an Iranian general, it is hard to see a good end.

There will be retaliation. Other countries will be drawn in. Our own ability to make moral objections to such acts is gravely weakened because Donald Trump’s action lies miles outside the laws of civilised war. Iran has no long-range drones (as far as we know), but can you begin to imagine the justified rage in the USA if a senior American general were shot dead on the steps of the Pentagon by an Iranian hit team? Yet what, in the end, would be the moral difference between the two acts? Now we can only tremble at what might come next.

So is this saying you agree with BoJo and this was a stupid move?

I'm shocked that even I agree with BoJo on this. He's an idiot, but not THAT much of an idiot.

DONALD Trump has warned Iran that it will attack 52 targets "very fast and very hard" if revenge is sought on the US.

Trump is in his power glory........

and he is going to hang on to power as long as he can........regardless of what he has to do.

This is no longer the US........it is some version of a empire .....going rogue.& we ain't seen nuthin yet.
The legality of his action is highly questionable.........

I always agree with Boris. He's right on most things and will be a great PM.

Of course, he's not an idiot. He was a two-term mayor of a Labour city and has won a landslide as PM. He'll win easily again in 2024. Far from being an idiot, he's cleverer than you.

Your move, punk...

Four words to prove BoJo isn't always so great.

"dead in a ditch".

Not exactly as clever as he thought.

But better than Trump any day. Least he's not an effin' idiot all the time, only most of the time.

Trump plunges toward the kind of Mideast conflict he pledged to avoid

A U.S. strike on an Iranian general and a new troop deployment cast President Trump as a pivotal figure in what could be Americas next military conflict with a foreign power.

If you trump haters are so smart, how come you ain't rich?
:)

If you think the prezidentS are anything but front men for the banker/pharma/military/msm, then you are all seriously stupid.

Gen. Wesley Clark predicted all this back in the Iraqi war days.

I just don't get people whining about Trump killing some asshole student of the Otto Skorzeny school of terrorism. Talk about irony.
Then we're equally baffled. I don't get why people who can't see that killing a criminal terrorist and assassinating a high government official are different things are allowed to vote.

Supporters of Iranian terrorist clash with counter-protestors in downtown Toronto

Saturday at 6 p.m. in downtown Toronto,
A Canadian Islamic organization called Mahdi Youth Society (MY Society) held a vigil for “heroes of Islam” Qasem Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, Iraqi paramilitary chief.

The pro-Iranian regime vigil was met by counter-protestors who flew pre-regime Iranian flags, American flags, and chanted “Terrorists go home!” Supporters of the “heroes of Islam” held up enlarged photos of Al-Muhandis and Soleimani.

One pro-terrorist demonstrator held up a sign that read “D J Trump is the real terrorist.” Others flew Hezbollah flags. They chanted “Down with USA and Israel” and “We stand for peace.” The two groups were mostly separated by the heavy police presence on the ground.

How in the hell did we get terrorist supporters in our country?

Although I understand military, and missiles, etc..
I think it would be more cost effective and advantageous,
to use better time tested methods..
If another country has a lot of natural resources,
and also a lot of people that could do the work for you
to acquire them, and profit from that,
Why not simply give them a simple choice?
If anyone does not agree to be converted to Christianity,
kill them.
Round up any undecided, and place them on reservations,
and control their food and water
Build Boarding schools for their children,
if they do not comply, beat and rape them.
Don't worry, eventually through generations of children,
it will seem like they always thought they were taught a 'better way of life', and will even vote for you to continue their ways,
forgetting the old barbaric ways they used to have,
eventually.. build some fast food places,
teach them anything you want in schools,
and make them pay dearly for what they now want,
working hard for years to pay for it.
If you have any other problems,
introduce various drugs to keep them alive longer,
throw in some illegal drugs as well,
give them all free phones, and facebook.
They will worship and follow you in no time!!
problem solved.
