I still think we should have at least one very strong military branch, that stands out, and is a strong asset to our allies.
Sometimes you need to have something impressive to wip out.

Your post raises a question about when Canadian identity began? Many Canadians speak glowingly about Canadian valor during the American invasion of Canada in the American Revolution and the War of 1812. But I don't think the idea of Canada existed back then. So how can Canada have had any military victories before the existence of a Canadian consciousness? It's like Americans pretending they were the victors in King Philip's War.

Many Canadians also speak of American roots severed by your American Revolution. Perhaps that's a beginning At least, there's no way to inject Obama's fault on that....

Remember, we used to have many more like him. I can think of 3 or 4 members like gerryh that no longer post here or do so irregularly.

If we force gerryh to be nice, we may lose him too.

Interesting spin on reality. You know of any natives that ever produced a title to the land they claimed? Kind of like Europe where multiple waves of people came across and settled in so who is the owner.
