I love this protection from who? Our governments are over in some countries trying
to sell resource materials to make them stronger while at the same time telling me
they are a threat to our way of life. If that were so should we sell them the very material
that will strengthen them? Oh sorry we did that before remember we sold scrap iron to
Japan right up to the day they attacked America.
Russia buys and sells material to us, the Arabs sell oil to us and the list goes on. So who
is the enemy? If we are all buying and selling to each other there should be no need to
have large measures of defense.
Of course we are engaging in hypocrisy for profit knowing full well at some point the
masters of industry will demand the lives of our children and grandchildren to protect
their share price and the margins of profit/
No I am not against trade, not against profit and not against doing business as long as we
are dealing with people with a shred of honesty and integrity. We are doing business with
despots and dictators and making billions while decrying their human rights records and
demanding I pay more to defend against them when in the same breath they are selling
materials that could put our nation at risk. The suggestion we pay more while this is going
on is preposterous. Stop making our enemies strong by surrendering our jobs and
environmental carbon credits and technology to those who would do us harm and we
won't need to spend more

Americans don't like what we are spending on DEFENCE? \tough shyte! Don't like what we contribute to NORAD? Fine, disband it and get your shyte off our land. We can always stop shipping oil, NG, Electricity, and water south. Oil and NG can go east and west and we can keep our water and Electricity for our own use. Don't need us? I'm fine with that. I know we can find others to buy our resources.

There's more to this relationship than just how many guns and planes we have. You don't like ensuring that you have access to what we own, then don't let the door hit your a$$ on the way out. Unless, of course, you want to try and take it like you have in other parts of the world. Then, bring it on. You'll find we aren't as easy as you think.

Give us your women or we'll screw your men.

We can't help you with your problems, we can't enumerate your problems. We have snow, some fish and a few trees left. Certainly if there was anything you need we would consider an offer. But you can't have our balls. We know what their for, making babies, we like that stuff.

You're in rare form today. Happy New Year.

Oh, my bad is it? I posted an article authored by a Canadian for a Canadian media outlet, how would you suggest I approach it?

Cause you ain't one of us no matter how hard you try. It is different when we criticize ourselves. Even then it depends on which side of the political fence you sit on.

No way! That syrup just gets everywhere!8O

Which makes it all the more fun to lick off.

And HTF did uncle sam get where he is today? By one -hundred plus straight years of raping and bombing every country whose resources it coveted. I have no doubts whatever that we will be included in the madness of your schedualed civil war.

Actually, it wasn't necessary to rape and bomb Canada. The Canadians dropped their trousers voluntarily, bent over, and invited Uncle Sam to have lunch. I can think of no other country in the world as accommodating as Canada.

You got that right, for sure. I don't think Canada can avoid getting involved in the fortress north america stuff that has to be implimented soon. You can probably see what's happening in the states better than I can. I really hope it ends well, but I have grave doubts.

wouldn't surprise me if our illustrious and honorable leaders have (for a long time too) on both sides, already agreed on what 'thank you' gift Canada will give to United States when they truly do save our asses.

personally I wouldn't mind giving them vancouver island in exchange for their troubles.

In all honesty it will be a miracle if the United States can save itself.

It's already happened.

A very long time ago Canada was a world player with a set of balls. When you spoke, other countries listened.

Now you sit along on the sidelines whining like a bunch of bitches when something doesn't go your way.

You couldn't defend yourselves against the Friday night shift of the NYPD, let alone anyone else flexing their muscles towards you.

Stop blaming others for your woes, it's at the very least pathetic.

Actually, I take issue with what you've written. You obviously have no idea of Canada's history when it comes to world war or other battles we've been involved in (i.e. Korea).

Canada has ALWAYS fought far more than her weight. I find it extremely funny when American movies portray how the Americans have saved countries from devastation from the bad guys with no mention of what had happened before the Americans even were involved. Guess who likely made it possible - at the cost of many lives no less...the Canadians that's who. Vimy Ridge is a perfect example.

You can brag all you want about American achievements but a lot of them were only possible because the Canadians made it so.

We may be small but we are mighty and we will fight to the death if the cause is Just and Right! Don't EVER underestimate the Canadian Forces. We may be small, but we're very highly trained and EXTREMELY SMART!! Ask anyone in the Military of every Western Country - UK, Germany, France, Australia and even your own American Forces. You don't screw with a Canadian Forces.

Good movie to watch is "The Devil's Brigade." It gives full credit to the Canadian half of the special operations unit as well as the Yanks.

FUK YOU. And the goat you rode in on. I like my island just fine without an infusion of low IQs.. But we could give them all the freeloaders and rich retirees that have infested the place. Let them have queerbek.

I see no yankee haters here. Some of my favourite relatives are yankees. I'm a yankee lover man. I hope they git well soon.

That and most of em be too pathetic to hate anyways.

Did they have time travel back then?

Bait...meet fish.

Your post raises a question about when Canadian identity began? Many Canadians speak glowingly about Canadian valor during the American invasion of Canada in the American Revolution and the War of 1812. But I don't think the idea of Canada existed back then. So how can Canada have had any military victories before the existence of a Canadian consciousness? It's like Americans pretending they were the victors in King Philip's War.
