An all or nothing stance on the part of the Palestinians (or should I say their warring representatives) has thwarted a peaceful resolution. That is the problem here. I am no supporter of the present Prime Minister of Israel, but until the world (including Arab Nations) start holding groups like Hamas accountable, children will continue to die needlessly. This could have all been avoided if not for rockets launched out of Gaza. The Pigs of War are using the downtrodden and uneducated to keep their ridiculous cause alive.

Right.. Have you seen Netanyahu give anything but lip service to some real basis for Peace. The Palestinians have offered.. based on statehood and Israel withdrawal from the West Bank.

Why should he do anything else. His American 'guarantor' does not demand it of him.. and he is absolutely committed to a vision of a 'divine' destiny for Greater.. free of these camel jockey and donkey herders.

So either you deal with the Palestinian Authority or you deal with Hamas. Netanyahu has decided he can beat Hamas.. without compromising his ethnic Jewish utopia of Biblical Israel.

Through all this Abbas and Nutlessyahud have sort of been on the same level on not letting this get any bigger.

Nutless seem to have a preference towards the Fatah as well.

Israel is important for the United States because it gives it a foothold in within oil Arab states. Think of this as an American backed attack on Arab civilians. Congratulations Obama, you are good at this.

^^ This is just plain stupidity!!

Hamas can stop the war at any moment that they wish to stop it.

All they have to do is announce when they will stop firing their rockets (and stop firing their rockets as they announced) and Israel will have absolutely NO choice but to stop their bombing and withdraw from Gaza.

It's really all that simple if Palestine wants the war to stop!!

After reading this and also reading a report how a CNN reporter was harassed and after rightfully calling the jerks the scum they were she was reassigned, my opinion of leaving the area to its own devices keeps growing.

F-em all. NEITHER side wants peace, NEITHER side wants an end to it... BOTH sides are just as guilty and BOTH sides are mentally sick.

Those who want peace, those who want it all to stop should either overtake both leaderships to end it, or leave and let these ignorant, disgusting 'people' destroy themselves. The sooner, the better.

Israel should just swat at the rockets and allow Hamas to build its arsenal. Then when their body count comes up to an acceptable level they will not be regarded as being heavy handed.

This nugget of reasoning comes from my fellow Canadians whose Former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau put Montreal under martial law over one murdered ambassador.

And let's not forget Oka.
