Here is the BS.

Your whining about Canadian problems in the light of our moving to help in Libya is like a rich fat man complaining about famine relief because he does not have enough cream cheese on his bagel.

Actually Lybia had the highest standard of living in Africa.

And I don't give a crap about rebels in some other country when we have our own undernourished children and working poor. I happen to believe we should get our own house in order before we spend any time or money on some other sovereign nation.

Some of you are obviously ****ed in the head if you think there are no serious problems at home.

You are obviously ****ed in the head if you think a few missing textbooks are the equivalent of a few millions of people in the path of the vengeful army of a homicidal maniac.

CNN is at it again, cheering on the slaughter by NATO of innocents once again.

CNN: "Ok Nick, can you stop talking and open a window so as our viewers can hear the gun-fire going on?"

Nick: "Ok...I`ve opened a window....can you hear it now?"

"Yes Nick, thats awesome, we can hear it now" pop-pop-pop-pop-pop

I would truely love to see either Lybia or NATO drop a bomb on CNN and it`s crew `covering` this act of aggression to finally bring home whats happening.

Don`t talk so ****ing silly about "human rights" Goober.

We in the west (NATO) pick and choose constantly about who in the world deserves `human rights`. Its based on oil and what serves our interest in the end. We put a blind eye to the rest of Africa and its suffering at the hands of it`s leaders.

Well it isn't logistically possible to police every inch of the world so one must pick and choose. Seems like common sense to pick the battles one has a bigger stake in.

And you do what - Cheer on the soldiers deaths, celebrate them in fact. Seems the Libyans were asking for help. They got help, almost to late due to Obama the straddler - So who are you to say they, the Libyan people themselves are wrong.

Your thesis is shaky. If this was purely a play for oil, the parties involved would not have asked the Arab League for support before placing a no-fly zone over Libya.

Coincidentally enough, the dictators like Gaddafi are also trying to use this canard, that the foreign powers want the oil. Libyans aren't buying it, and western nations were already buying the oil produced in Libya.

And that is the reason the world turned its back on Rwanda - same applies to Uganda - Same applies to Somalia - Same applies to Sudan -

Harry didn't go against the constitution neither did Obama, or for that matter George Bush.
the reason is the constitution is not broken is there is no declared war here at all. What
took place was an answer to a UN Resolution, asking for a policing action of sorts. Split
hairs if I will, what they did was legal, and this was not violence against Libya it is education.
The President of the United States has a lot of discretion, short of officially declaring war.
Libya is complaining the allies killed civilians, these were mostly in Government areas and
opposition forces are generally happy with the strikes. Rebels were under constant attack
and its time for this clown to be ousted from power. The other reason we are seeing the
action is because Europe needs oil and they will use a humanitarian excuse to get it.

Fact is most people in the west will support it because in Europe they need oil and in the
rest of the west want an end to Libya as a problem country. Like it or not right and wrong
has nothing to do with the equation

I like reading your opinions. I don't always agree with you. But I can tell you are thinking independently. This statement is a bullseye: The other reason we are seeing the action is because Europe needs oil and they will use a humanitarian excuse to get it.

I agree with you.

IMO, this war is legal and justified. Gadhafi actions justified the intervention. The UNSC has the authority and responsibility to intervene in a humanitarian crisis. Governments must not be allowed to use force to remain in power. This principle should apply to all countries, not just the ones with oil and leaders we don't like.

Obama Punked by the Arab League on Libya

No doubt Ashton Kutcher is hiding behind a bush at whatever golf course Barack Obama happens to be playing today, ready to jump out and shout at the hapless president, “Dude, you just got punked!”
That’s about the only explanation after the Arab League reversed course and criticized the U.S.-led attack on Libya (via Reuters):
European and U.S. forces unleashed warplanes and cruise missiles against Gadhafi on Saturday in a United Nations-backed intervention to prevent the veteran leader from killing civilians as he fights an uprising against his 41-year rule.
But Arab League chief Amr Moussa said what was happening was not what Arabs had envisaged when they called for the imposition of a no-fly zone over Libya.
“What is happening in Libya differs from the aim of imposing a no-fly zone, and what we want is the protection of civilians and not the bombardment of more civilians,” he said.
In comments carried by Egypt’s official state news agency, Moussa also said he was calling for an emergency Arab League meeting.
It only seems like yesterday that Hillary Clinton was citing Arab League support for Obama’s war against Libya. Oh wait, it was only yesterday.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the United States will support its European, Canadian and Arab partners in their efforts to stop further violence against civilians in Libya by Muammar Qaddafi’s forces, including “through the effective implementation of a no-fly zone.”
Arab nation leadership in efforts to stop violence in Libya has played a key role in mobilizing the international coalition, Clinton said. Clinton said that the Arab League with its “pivotal statement” changed the “diplomatic landscape” with regard to the approach toward the United Nations Security Council resolution this week authorizing “all necessary measures,” including a no-fly zone to end violence and protect civilians in that country.
If I were a betting man I would take the Arab League’s reversal as an indication they believe Gaddafi is going to survive. Welcome to Barack Obama’s AWOL presidency.

With that, large font for ease of reading, as a guiding principle are you prepared for War with China - Simple yes or no is sufficient.

Why isn't Obama leading a crusade to help the oppressed peoples of Bahrain and Yemen? They are being murdered by their leaders. Why won't Obama help them? The oppressed of the world cry out for America's Beloved Generalissimo.
