Allied airstrikes kill 48, 150 wounded: Libya TV

TUNIS | Sat Mar 19, 2011 9:17pm EDT

TUNIS (Reuters) - Airstrikes on several Libyan cities killed 48 people and wounded 150 in "civilian areas," a statement read out on Libyan state television said on Sunday.
The statement by the Libyan armed forces said the capital Tripoli as well as the cities of Sirte, Benghazi, Misrata and Zuwarah were hit.

Good way to stir up hatred in Libya for the West, especially the USA.
Libya is going to report that civilians were killed regardless. It forces the hand of the no fly zone. Are they attacking, or are they ensuring that there are no military air strikes? If they're attacking, and kill innocent civilians, someone will have to investigate. That violates the "no land personel" agreement. What to do? Keep bombing and ignore civilian casualty concerns? There was footage of rebels riding around on tanks. How can a fighter plane tell the difference?

Another thing I was thinking....we should be counseling Ka-daffy instead of bombing him. He obviously has self esteem issues. Most people with supreme power would make themselves a general and not a lowly colonel. It's quite obvious that he doesn't feel he's good enough.

They are attacking every thing that moves it how a war unofficial or otherwise is fought.
All this talk about someone investigating is a mute point, the allies will beat the hell out
of Libya and nothing will be investigated, beside the major powers are not subject to an
international court and America does not recognize international courts period.
France, Britain, and the United States are going all out to secure the oil fields and also
to establish a government friendly to the west, the leadership of Libya will be the only
ones on the benches of an international court.
Of course civilians get killed in wars, its part of the conflict and despite what is said
scaring civilians is part of the war effort. In the Second World War it was part of the
everyday contest of wills. For the victors, the first rule of war is ,, There ain't no rules.

But isn't this move to ensure that the UN order of a no-fly zone is observed? War? Are these countries attacking Libya, or enforcing a no-fly zone? Is this war if that's what it takes to secure the oil?

Just exactly which part is BS Gerry?

Here is the BS.

Your whining about Canadian problems in the light of our moving to help in Libya is like a rich fat man complaining about famine relief because he does not have enough cream cheese on his bagel.

Does that have anything to do with the remark made in France by the Austrian Princess (what was her name again ???) ... "Then let them eat cake?" It's not about cream cheese, it's about smoked salmon and capers. This is not about sending troops, I think, but rather what it is they are doing. Are they enforcing a no fly zone by the Libyan government over their own air space, or are they taking pot shots at the ground ... er ... civilians. ... to protect their oil interest?

So you favour the idea of moving throughout the middle east, ripping off filters and mastering women? Do you think the US or France should lead that air assault? Should it be like Wellington and Napolpeon or cowboys and indians?

Ya that's exactly what I said!

Do you think the US or France should lead that air assault?
I don't care, nuke them all and let Allah sort them out.

Do you think irradiated oil will make gas that will make our cars fly?

Should it be like Wellington and Napolpeon or cowboys and indians?
The latter, only this time the towel heads get to play Custer!

England developed a flying car about 10 years ago ... and I'm wondering if, when you say towel head, I would say diaper head. Did Custer loose? They didn't teach that history when I went to school.

But was it like futuristic and glowing and all that?

Maybe. But I was wondering if you knew what sarcasm was?

Did Custer loose?
Monumentally.
They didn't teach that history when I went to school.
No doubt. To much liberal pacification in Canadian schools.
