I was just browsing. I'm a grandmother, not a hacker. I ran across some press releases that specifically say they are not to be distributed in the US. If I can find them by accident, then someone is not too bright. I found confidential data also on Halifax, but it was so boring I didn't bring it up.

Look here:
Friday, February 06, 2009, 4:20:00 PMres://ieframe.dll/feedarrowtrans.png
CALGARY, ALBERTA--(eMediaWorld - Feb. 6, 2009) - THIS PRESS RELEASE IS NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO ANY U.S. NEWS WIRE SERVICE OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES. Arcan Resources Ltd. ("Arcan " or the "Company")

Ever heard of this urban myth that Canada has a huge secret stash of gold hidden up north, and only keeps some gold in the US federal reserve to appease Uncle Sam?

Those things above are just distractions to make you think you stumbled apon information you're not supposed to have.

But then again, legally, they do state they're not supposed to be distributed or given to US Persons.... you're a US person in possession of confidential Canadian information..... CSIS might be knocking soon. :p

 Sorry, Uncle. You could be looking at a trip to Gitmo.

Unless they shut it down first.

What you read was an old trick. Consolidating shares on a 1:3 basis, changing the name of the company, and selling "junior" resource company stock to Americans to raise "venture" capital.

Most likely the CEO needs to trade cars or something, and is seeking to improve the short term "cash flow".

Yep, you should buy 10,000 shares if you can. Use the pension money. Hear this stock is goin through the roof.

Wanna buy a bridge???

Praxilator,
I'm just saying: If this information is on the open net, the people in Canada who put out this press release should have blocked access from the US. You are better at computers than me. Shoot, I have accidentally run into the White House menu online. Prax, see if you can find that confidential press release about Halifax. Google is indeed one handy tool. I guess every country has its own percentage of idiots. Sigh.

Cripes, I was joking..... you don't need to always be a d*ck everytime I respond to you, you know.

Everything I have found has been dated 2005 and later, which I would assume most don't really apply for security purposes. And maybe the above samples you provided are no longer confidential either.

If they still are, then those who put them online should be arrested and jailed.
