I doubt if the United States of Paranoia is going to lock the doors to everyone but let a President run for election without proof that he's qualified for the job.

That's what the general concensus seems to be. However, what's the process? At what point does a presidential hopeful show up with his documentation. Where. And to who? Are there deadlines? Is there an address to send the stuff to?

Nobody seems to know.

I'm very curious.

In an era of computerized search and secret squirrels who can ferret out the colour of your belly button lint, they who need to know probably already knew long before Obama decided he was going to think about tossing his hat in the ring. Is hard copy absolutely necessary any more?

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

It is all subjective. 14 years consecutive or at anytime? A citizen of the US? The US constitution is so vague that even if he was born somewhere else he probably is entitled to run.

Vague Kreskin, because of the time that it was written?

Vague because it is. Why didn't it just say "to be eligible to run for the Office of President one must be born in the US"? Is it really that difficult to write a constitution? It's a brutally written document in nearly every respect.

"
Respected conservative blogger Ed Morrissey called the Berg lawsuit a “conspiracy theory” that had been put to rest by the Obama campaign over the summer but "has arisen like a zombie yet again to suck the credibility out of the conservative blogosphere.”

In this country, hard copy is required. In fact, if your birth certificate does not have the raised seal, it is invalid. How would you show that except in person?
