It was thrown out on a technicality (the plaintiff was ruled to not have standing....which was a highly expected outcome) but is being appealed to the Supreme Court.

to many americans the dismissal of this case is another in a painfully long string of judges wiping their ass with the constitution. if you run across one expressing outrage, take the time to find out if they're pissed about that or if they're just a blind obama-hater before you speak too harshly.

His father was born in Kenya, not him. If he was born in Kenya, he would'nt be running for
president, that simple. His birth certificate would have 'allready' told the correct authorities
that he is a natural born american, he hasn't come this far without having to prove his birth
location, a long time ago. It's just now, when the republicans are panicky, that some blogger
has tried to file a law suit, so silly.
His father has exactly the same name. Even middle name. That's probably where people get confused.
I didn't realize that his father's name was exactly the same. Yes, confusion for sure, but then
there are those who want to bring him down for 'no reason' whatsoever, that only tells me
they are bigots, but won't admit it.

Good for them, it is obvious that the 'right' people have long ago verified the legitimacy of
this document, but I like the fact that they aren't going to show it, (or any other document
that is private), to the press, who have no business there, and are just after a 'story'.
What's interesting is that you can make a better case that McCain is not eligible to be President:
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States
Note that it does not say 'Naturalized Citizen', it says 'natural born Citizen'. It does not make any allowance for people born elsewhere on US bases, or any other such fluff.

Actually, that law wasn't passed until 1937... That actually is important, that would mean McCain was not born a US citizen...
What you are quoting deals with citizenship laws, not the requirements of being president.
granted, but the constitutional requirements are vague to say the least. who better to provide a definition of "natural born citizen" than the government agency mandated with regulating citizenship?
