Apparently I know SFA.

You're catching on.

I haven't read the whole thread but I do find it amusing to see a bunch of seniors (the wealthiest generation in the history of this country) whining about safety nets for poor folks. Can you say hypocrites.

Sounds like Putz is at his pathetic "best" again. Maybe he should count seniors at the food banks.

Any idea what AISH is? He has no room to complain about anything.

I would guess something to do with "A$$holes" but I can't make sense of the "I":)

how so?

I think it would be a terrible job to have...truant kids are truant for a reason, usually a spectacularly bad home environment...abused, neglected, raped, runners, drug users, etc.

the truant officer is a social worker, not particularly well paid with a heavy heavy case load...the one school I was in last year had visits from him two to three times a week...if I had to listen to what he had to listen to I would never sleep again

he managed to help some of our kids but their stories would curl your hair

Sorry if I misspoke, probably should have used the term "bureaucrat" instead of the df term.

the way some people in here speak of single mums ...yeah that's my take

What it amounts to is that society deems that folks accept personal responsibility for the choices that are made... It surprises me that you equate society's distaste in assuming the consequences of what amounts to an individual responsibility as punishment
