Northern Ontario,
That's true. It is all about money. Mostly how much this bunch can extract from the producers of the world so they can sit on their lazy azzes and complain about how nobody loves them. The gullible SJWs, paid to protest are too stupid to see this.
The chiefs get more money while the tribe gets a mere pittance...And Cliffy in his enlightenment sits there writing slogans, wishing his skin was a different color.....

I heard that the FBI has said that threats of terrorist attacks in the US are possible for Monday the 7th..
What's crazy is there has been terrorist attacks nearly every day in standing rock against a group of people for praying.
Isis persecutes people because of religion/spirituality and race...
So does Morton county sheriff office and the national guard. ....
But no FBI threat there. Just biz as usual for the US... - Cody Thomas Blackbird

The Tribes upstream are heavily invested in oil.

I know you are clueless but don't expect me to educate you. Hint: it is not about oil.

It's about what ever they feel like saying it's about at that moment.

Do they need to cross the river to the side the cops are on to pray? Why can't they stand in the water on the side of the river that they are camping on? I'll tell ya why. They can't provoke the police as easily and it makes for better copy when they cross the river and get pepper sprayed.

Hint, if they don't cross the river, they won't get pepper sprayed.

Blend of faiths inspired by Standing Rock

OCETI SAKOWIN CAMP — A contingent from Standing Rock Sioux Tribe walked across the Cantapeta Creek bridge and asked police and pipeline security to lose the loud helicopter so hundreds gathered at the water could hear themselves pray.

The loud whup-whup-whup rang out over a gathering of denominations and churches from across the country who answered a call to join “Clergy for Standing Rock.”

More than 500 people from 20 denominations — Christians, Buddhists, Muslims and Jews in white and colorful robes, stoles, cassocks — stood together to repudiate a centuries-old doctrine that declared America to have been discovered, to ask forgiveness for imperial injustice and to pray for those gathered in camps at the edge of the reservation.

The bridge, barred by charred remains of vehicles since last week’s sweep of protesters, is closed to traffic and guarded by law enforcement on the far end. It stands empty and disputed between the encampments and the Dakota Access Pipeline.

The various symbols of religion were carried to the bridge alongside a traditional Sioux eagle staff and pots of burning sage that filled the air with a sharp cleansing smell.

The idea to call the nation’s clergy together occurred to Standing Rock’s Episcopalian minister John Floberg, who said he could think of no better counteraction to the military response brought against Dakota Access Pipeline protesters over the past two weeks. He posted the plan on Facebook Sunday and his message galvanized clergy to jump into cars and airplanes to get to Standing Rock by 9 a.m. Thursday. The flurry of timed arrivals temporarily jammed the entrance to the main overflow camp, where prayers started with the symbolic burning of the doctrine of discovery, used since the 15th century to claim lands occupied by indigenous peopleOCETI SAKOWIN CAMP — A contingent from Standing Rock Sioux Tribe walked across the Cantapeta Creek bridge and asked police and pipeline security to lose the loud helicopter so hundreds gathered at the water could hear themselves pray.

Thousands march against Dakota Access Pipeline in Toronto

Thousands of demonstrators marched peacefully in downtown Toronto on Saturday to show solidarity with protesters against the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline project in the U.S.
The march attracted at least 4,000 people, according to one organizer. It began in front of the Ontario legislature at Queen's Park and included a stop at the U.S. consulate on University Avenue. It ended at Nathan Phillips Square in front of Toronto city hall.

The original plan was to put the pipeline closer to "white" Bismark ND, but it was deemed to be too much of a threat to their water supply so they moved the pipeline to Standing Rock because, after all, they are just a bunch of wild injuns and who cares what happens to them. It is heart warming to see all the bigots on these forums agree.

The terrorists in Standing rock are the ones preventing pipeline worker from doing their job which they have all the necessary permits to do.

This is Wounded Knee Dec. 29, 1890 when American forces attacked and killed 150 Lakota Sioux who were in the act of prayer and spiritual dance.

Today, 126 years later, American forces attacked Lakota Sioux again, who are defending their sacred burials ground and their water, as they were trying to get to dry land from freezing cold water they had braved to reach the burial ground.

American forces sprayed their faces with mace and left them blinded and helpless in the freezing water. How horrific that this country called America continues to commit genocide while its press hides and its people turn away from their government's acts?
