Theodore Roosevelt?, Hemmingway? Those are not my heros.

TR was arguably the greatest US President of the 20th century, surpassed in all US history only by Lincoln, IMHO.

Hemingway was one of the greatest writers of the 20th Century. For Whom the Bell Tolls is a masterpiece.

Both were Men, with a capital M.

Yep. TR is a hero of mine.

Hemingway, I also admire, although not to the same extent.

Were Roosevelt or Hemingway poachers?

Hemingway committed suicide. Would you be proud to be in his company on that?

We were not talking about poaching, but trophy hunting.

Hemingway suffered a complete mental collapse in the last months of his life. I do not hold that against him. Nor was he hunting in those last couple of years.

primal shooting a warning shot through the head of a "sport hunter".

Talking like that from your safe secure home which was wrested from the wilderness and killed and still kills many many animals to continue, is dangerous in the real world. So called progressives think they are not vulnerable, very stupid.

Open season on trophy hunters!

In the wild, it is the older, strongest males that do the breeding. They are also the most prized by trophy hunters. When you remove the dominant males from a territory, you diminish the health and vitality of the herd or pack. People have no more right to live than any other animal. I say, support your right to arm bears.

Neighboring Namibia also warned that a ban by airlines on trophy transportation will hurt its economy and conservation efforts that rely on revenue from hunters.

“This will be the end of conservation in Namibia,” the Namibia Press Agency quoted Pohamba Shifeta, the environment and tourism minister, as saying.

South Africa says that if hunters can’t take their animal trophies home, a hunting industry worth nearly $500 million a year will suffer, affecting job creation and community development. In Namibia, more than 80 registered Namibian wildlife conservancies depend largely on funding from trophy hunting, according to the Namibia Press Agency.

“If conservancy members have no income, they will abandon their role in protecting the country’s natural resources,” Shifeta said.

“These anti-trophy hunting campaigns are very serious as many countries are joining the chorus now,” Shifeta said this week. “It will also be uphill for the hunter if trophies are not to be shipped.”

Now if Canada and the rest of the world put 10th the money they invest in war and weapons of mass destruction, and invested it in conservation and feeding the hungry, Africa wouldn't have to rely on these pubescent egos with small dick syndrome, now would they?

Why is Africa our problem? Seems to me they are having more kids than their ecosystem can support. Starvation is unfortunately the natural consequence of such. If you want to use your own money to help, call Sally Struthers. But it should be an individual choice not a government policy of a government over here.

I'm curious.... were you born this stupid or did you have to work at it?

You do realize that conservation in Canada also relies heavily on money's collected from Hunters and Fisherman.......right? Do you know why, Cliffy? It's because bleeding heart hypocrites like yourself, are only good at whining and pointing their fingers. Opening their wallets is another thing entirely.

There's an acid test to check the validity of that statement. How many years training does it take to be an M.D.? How many years training does it take to be a veterinarian?

He does have a point there Cliffy.

I have no problem with hunting and fishing for food. I did it for years. We are talking about trophy hunting. Are you that stupid that you don't know the difference?

Have you not heard that we live in a global community, that we are all in this together? Canada and all the other imaginary boundaries are meaningless concepts. You cannot see the imaginary lines from space. All humans are brother and sisters of the same mother, the biosphere that supports all life on this planet and we in the west are destroying that biosphere at an astounding rate.

The Universe is is so many billions of years old. If we break it down to one hour, we have only been here for one minute. The industrial revolution happened 1 second ago. In that time we have destroyed nearly 50% of all wildlife, cut down most of the old growth forests, mining has torn up vast swaths of the earth, harvested vast amounts of sea life, trashed the atmosphere, buried vast area of the earth under cities and golf courses.... We are not separate from the biosphere or any of the other life forms. We are part of it and what we do to it, we do to ourselves.

I really have given up caring if humanity survives its own stupidity but I am concerned about the rest of the life forms that we are taking with us in this race to self destruction.

Will you shut the hell up? Ever since the first astronauts gave us that "you can't see borders from space" I've been dreading the moron politicians're gonna start spray-painting mile-wide, dayglo orange lines along their borders.

Don't remind them.

Hey, as far as I'm concerned, anybody is welcome to visit me. Unfortunately, I have to move into town and abandon my trailer, but you are welcome to stay in it when you visit.

"Abandon" your trailer?
So, you made a lot of money in your life and can afford to move into town with all the goodies, oh wait, it was everyone else that made the money while you whined and paid enough taxes that you can live well now......ok.

You have a lousy imagination, so filled with hate. I mean I can't live in it. You are the one with a heart of stone. You should go back to the sweat lodge and unburden that rock.

British Prince Joins the Fight Against Poachers

The death of Cecil the Lion King has rallied princes and strong men and women to rally behind the banner of animal protection. DailyMail has reported that Prince Harry recently joined the fight against poachers, flying to Kruger Park reserve to confront poachers in an epic shoot out with two poachers along the Crocodile River. One poacher was injured and the prince's rangers recovered a high-power rifle and silencer. The army unit also called on helicopter and drones with thermal imaging to spot poachers and coordinate their arrests.
