There are no other sources of power dimwhit. That is the whole point. All our equipment runs on diesel and will for the forseeable future. There is no alternative yet so a carbon tax is just a tax on earning a living. WE do not even have natural gas available nor do we have public transportation yet town is only 8km away and the highway is about 100 meters.
In BC nuclear of any sort will not pass a referendum so as I said before that is a none starter.

There are many other sources of energy, the infrastructure to provide them in enough quantity isn't being created in favor of maintaining the fossil fuel sector. Diesel fuel doesn't have to come from the ground and we don't even have to maintain the same wasteful energy model, there are much more efficient ways to use power and resources, it's the wasteful mentality that's built up around the use of "cheap" fossil fuels that keeps people thinking the way you do.
You keep claiming what's impossible and I've already pointed out to you that politics is the art of the possible, effectively presented people will support the options that give them the best return the challenge is to present
THE FACTS in a way that makes clear the true choices.
There's a whole world of possibilities being ignored and denied us because a few highly resistant individuals in crucial positions. Based on history this won't go on inevitably, as the inevitable environmental backlash hits so will the social one. The smart course for all concerned is to change course now before it gets bloody, unfortunately that's not the usual pattern from history.
