My poison would be neither. A bullet to the back of the head in some unknown forest is no different than a firing squad against the wall. The Poles never got out from being under an oppressive yoke until Lech Wellessa, Pope John Paul II, and Gorbechev came on the scenes. All those statues were placed by the oppressive Communist regimes (Soviet and Polish) post WWII. The Soviets did not admit guilt for the Katyn Forest Massacre until the 1990's.
And the Nazis did bite off more than they could chew and the Soviets made them and the German people pay dearly.
I can't equate nazi random executions and death camps to ruskie bread lines that led to solidarity and eventually eu money to spend on roads n' stuff, with nazis in the mirror poles could at least breathe again.
Poland was in a tough neighbourhood, germany on one side ussr on the other, enemy tanks roamed the countryside then russia upped its' armour to oust the nazis and now u.s. armour roams the polish countryside to guard against the ghost of ussr, simply no quite time to enjoy a yzwiec.
Re: katyn, war oft sets the stage and humanity never disappoints in presenting grotesque dispatching mechanisms n' like all self respecting thugs they deny, deny, deny.
Is there an answer to trumps query of where the statue purge will end?
