He's also desperately trying to fit in.

No need to throw a fit, Cliffy. When you don't understand something, just ask. I'll help.

Petros, Cliffy doesn't understand what "American domestic businesses" are. Could you explain it to him? I would, but Cliffy gets upset easily. I believe Mhz said Cliffy gets pressure in his brain.

Mhz isn't always totally accurate, especially about things to do with the brain. :) :)

So you understand why you're a leftard then.

Did you also know that Canada's debt to GDP is much less?

Well, putting more money into the pockets of the average joe should be a boon to the economy as people have more disposable income as a rule. However, with so many people deep in debt (including governments) it's likely any additional funds will go towards paying the debt and not in new spending. So, it's a toss-up as to whether tax cuts now-a-days will have any impact at all for anyone.

We'll have to wait and see won't we? AT&T and other companies who have said their employees will get $1,000 bonuses might boost the spending for Christmas but who knows what'll happen in the next 4 - 6 months. If I were getting a bonus, I'd be applying it against any debt I had and curb any new spending I would be tempted to make. But that's me.

True.....very true.

Debt is an issue and interest rates are going up.

Probably nothing....

Not sure how all that plays out. One thing pretty much for sure, when you pay a debt, the debtor likely puts the money back in the economy, albeit likely on B.M.W.s and Rolls Royces. :) :)

That's because you have a brain. Most people will spend it. There are people out there that think if their credit card isn't maxed out they have money.

Northern Ontario,
Haven't bought anything on credit in 20 years except my car, 5 years ago just because it was interest free loan, but the interest on the money that stayed in the bank was so low that whatever I gained was insignificant....

No, it's not. If you are buying a car - that is, not using someone else's - then it's costing you big time.

Get a job that offers a company car, or work for a rich person. Use the company vehicle to do your running around! I've never bought a car in my life, but drive almost daily.

And no, I'm not a bus driver or a taxi driver! I get others to pay for my wheels.
