I think we are and we were then as well. I agree with Juan on one thing... after the Canadians helped rescue the six embassy staff the country was awash in thanks for Canada and there were signs everywhere thanking Canada. I remember it clearly. I guess it wasn't enough.

It's always a great time to have a Canadian flag on your truck. :)

I always see Canadian flags on cars and trucks...stickers, vanity plates, etc. The people around the corner from my parents house have flown the Canadian flag and US Flag in front of their house. Its all good people.

I understood you were talking about the link in the thread body - You post so much Bull about myself and others that you should try to be clearer in your posts.
That emotional overload cause you to make so many mistakes, outright lies, twisting historical facts, twisting other members posts. Why do you do that. Self image problem.

As I knew the story I had no option but to have an accurate Thread Title. Perhaps you can learn from that when you post a misleading Thread Title- And I must say it is a common occurrence with your Thread Titles and Polls that are junk, biased and plain old crap

Americans aren't very appreciative are they? If they were appreciative they probably wouldn't be Americans.

So maybe Canadians shouldn't stick their necks out for Americans again?

The fact of the matter is that Canadians will probably always help Americans. It's one of the things that makes you folks our kith and kin.

I would slow down a bit with the kith and kin stuff, it really does not fit like it once seemed like it might. Always is not possibly for us to promise especially since the history of slowdowns like this indicate the larger slowing down state usually helps itself to want it perceives it needs. We have already signed the SPP docs, the decisions have been made for us years ago by forward thinkers. Even if we weren't nice as usual they would still get helped greatly,as I understand it. If I understand it. Maybe I don't understand it.

I agree with Canada helping the US within international law. After that its a judgement call. Risking Canadian diplomats to rescue American diplomats was a good idea... even if it turned out badly. Luckily it didn't.

I researched this Mendes character and he is something special. The best of the best for that type of job. The effort was sort of like a bank heist and the fact that it went off without a hitch is a great credit to Mendez and everyone else involved.

I also don't begrudge this movie's Oscars. Those are for cinematography and story telling. Based on what I know the script/plot could have had more Canadian content. But if the story didn't flow by giving Ken Taylor and the Canadian effort due credit, then they should have killed his character in a "took a bullet for the team" type scene.

I may go and see the movie.
